Remarks
VIT Vellore is a college most join when they are unable to clear JEE MAIN or BITSAT. The crowd here is diverse and hence a lot of exposure. So it is going to help you out in one way or the other. The infrastructure is on another level. 350+ acres of the campus is something you want to witness. Apart from strict rules and an expensive fee structure, everything is fine.

Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum in VIT is one of the best in India for all branches. Students can make their own timetable from the second semester. This includes choosing your own faculty, place of lecture, and class timings. Exams in VIT are divided into two CATs (Continuous Assessment Tests) and one FAT (Final Assessment Test). Apart from this, there are Digital Assignments and Quizzes in all subjects. Students may also opt for additional learning if they fall short of marks in a subject.
Placement Experience
There is a 100% placement in VIT, Vellore. All sorts of companies visit college every year. This year 502 companies visited the campus. Jobs can be in the IT sector (3.5 lakh pa), in dream companies (>5 lakh pa), and super dream companies (>10 lakh pa). The highest package was 30 lakh pa offered by Microsoft and the average package was 5.75 lakh pa. VIT also gives internships to students. There are internship expos conducted and everything is quite good. Students may also do internships in start-ups from VIT itself. I myself haven't done any internship yet but surely will this year.
College Events
There are two fests celebrated in VIT: graVITas (technical fest) and Riviera (cultural fest). They are one of a kind. There are many clubs and chapters in VIT which conduct various events throughout the year. Their flagship events, however, are generally around the two aforementioned fests. I am a part of a technical chapter named CodeChef VIT. It is of a kind experience and you get to learn a lot.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure in VIT is divided into 5 categories. The better your rank, the lower will be the category. If you want to go for CSE, chances are you'll get it for a higher category than Mechanical or any other branch. Overall, yes, the fees of VIT is a bit too expensive.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no real scholarship here in VIT apart from the category-based admission, i.e. the lower your rank, the less the fess. Apart from this, financial aid is given to students who scored a decent rank in VITEEE and also whose parents earn <1 lakh pa.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are something that VIT is known for. You'll have an endless number of opportunities in all fields throughout your study at VIT. There is an Olympic size swimming pool (25m by 50m), two gymnasiums, basketball courts (too many), lawn tennis courts, badminton courts, table tennis facilities and much more. There are coaches available for all.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel infrastructure, facilities, and mess are better than most Indian colleges. There are around 13 hostel blocks for men and 7-8 for women. Hostel blocks for male freshers are better than those for seniors as these are newly constructed blocks. The bathrooms, however, aren't so good. The choice of the AC room is given only on the basis of CGPA. Thus you have a constant source of motivation. Facilities are endless in VIT.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni talks are conducted almost every semester. The junior-senior interaction, however, something that VIT lacks. Because of the strict anti-ragging rules, no senior himself approaches a junior. However, once you make contact with someone, they are very helpful. They help you with your studies, guide you, and always are a source of entertainment.
Faculty
Faculty in VIT, like any other college, is wide-ranged. Some are very nice and really concerned about students, while many are least concerned and just try to complete the syllabus. There are proctors that have around 20 students under them. They are also faculty members and generally very nice. They help you out with all of your problems.
