Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

From the very beginning i always have the moto to give some contribution to our society, so i always wanted to join the health services so that i can reach out more people and serve them .And as we all know how various diseases, health complications are arising day by day.so if i become a successful doctor, i will be very pleased to treat the people specially from lower financial status who cant afford proper treatment sometimes. In my opinion MBBS curriculum, giving us best opportunities to gain our knowledge in medical field. But i think one thing should be added in this curriculum is that, students should be given exposure to patients from the very 1st year of MBBS, as the more we see real cases, the more we will be eager to know and the more we will have interactions with patients, because only bookish knowledge is off no use.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

In mbbs internship , the intern doctors currently get approx 31 thousand per month in west bengal( this number changes every year). After completing internship we will get our Mbbs degree, and practice in any government hospitals or private clinics as we want. We also can appear for Neet-pg for post graduation and get specialisation in any field according to our rank.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees is 6000( This include all lab fees ,admission fees, development fees). For every Mbbs students the fees is same either for general category students or reserved category.I have completed my 10 th and 12 th from west bengal board, That's why i can apply for swami Vivekananda scholarship (svmcm) worth of Rs=60,000 per year, if i manage to get minimum 60 percentage in university exam every year.

Campus Life

4.5

Every year different annusl festivals are held in our medical college, including college fest, freshers welcome , and also celebrating other little occasions like Saraswati puja,Holi etc. The central library of college contains lot of books and journals that are really helpful for us, we all get access to them whenever we want. Extracurricular activities and sports like volleyball, football, cricket, badminton , table tennis is also there.Every year various tournaments like intercollege and intracollege tournaments are arranged by our Mbbs batches.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

In our hostel each room accomodate two students, there two single beds, two almirahs, and two study table-chair are provided. Canteen service is not that much good, sometimes the food quality and taste are really annoying, and is definitely not worth of the rupees we provide. For hostel accommodation we only give 12 rupees per month. As it is government medical college hostel, the fees is really low.

Admission

First of all , in medical field , we have to first clear the NEET exam to get admission in medical colleges, and we dont get to choose random colleges as per our wish, we had to go through a counselling process, and our college was alloted according to the All india rank of Neet exam.Generally those who get good ranks get good colleges, and others get peripheral colleges. But one thing to note here is every medical college has their pros and cons, so it doesn't matter at the end of the day, the thing matter the most is how much you are learning from this course and applying it in your practical field later on. :In neet 2022 i got an All india rank of 27,209 with a score of 587 (General category) and managed to get a decent peripheral college( Rampurhat government medical college and hospital) of west bengal. : In 2022 , i dont exactly remember now but the cut off marks went something around(575-580) for west Bengal, cut offs marks vary from state to state.

Faculty

4

There are all total 19 subjects in Mbbs curriculum that we have to complete in 4 years, and in each department there are atleast 8-10 faculty including HOD and associate professors. Each batch contains more or less 100 students. I am currently in 2nd year of Mbbs , till now i have liked the anatomy department the most, Specially teaching by Dr. mousam mahanti sir.other departments are also nice, our professors are always there to help us. In mbbs there are total 9 semester that have to be covered within 4 years. And along with that each year we have to pass one university exam .Each year almost 8-10 students get supple in alternative subjects.so, they have to clear the supple exam to get admission in subsequent year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.
