What Students Say
Likes
- The campus' infrastructure is too cool, you'll find everyone supportive here you know him/her or not.
- Social life is very nice whether it's teachers or students. Everyone is of so cooperative nature
- Teaching method of teachers not so top notch but is of satisfactory level as expected from Tier 3 college
Dislikes
- Teachers can more concentrate on effective method of teaching, sometimes it feels they are just doing formality of taking class.
- It's self dependent college, there are the same teachers who taught you in class, they also design question paper for exams and they even evaluate the copies but instead they don't give any more marks so that you can maintain a decent marksheet.
- It's NAAC 'A' certified college but instead you'll see everywhere, there is construction work is going on which sometimes don't feel pleasurable in the the plasant environment of greenish campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
The thing which inspired me to choose this course as it gets very easy for us to get placed in companies before completing our degrees and it refrain us from remaining unemployed for years and preparing for government jobs. All time you have to kept in mind that you have to face competition for placement so keep preparing yourself from very first year of the engineering Important tip: Don't focus too much on CPI as it doesn't matter at the time of placement because there is relative grading system which ruins your CPI very badly no matter how hard you studied for exams so mainly focus on your skill development by puchasing courses from various websites or watching free lectures on YouTube. The area which needs improvement in the course curriculum is mainly of teaching and guiding method of teachers, they should mainly prepare students for company's placements. But they mostly do their formality of taking class. The frequency of exams is after every 1.5 months and not so hard.
Placement Experience
Every student become eligible for placement in the 7th semester The name of some of the companies which visited and gives placements are Jagran, Mittal software labs, Emeis Technology, etc. I got placed in Emeis Technology, my joining is from January 2k25. The highest package is 5 LPA and lowest is 2.5 LPA this year. I got placed at 4 LPA in Emeis in Noida. The percentage of students getting placement is very low this time, this may be either because of lockdown and currently ongoing recession. Only 10% of students got placed this year My future plans after getting the degree is to change companies from time to time after gaining experience for salary hike.
Fees and Financial Aid
I used to pay tution fee of Rs.89000/- yearly as I took admission in 2k21 and it's increasing every year. They don't take any coution, registration, developmentbor lab fees additionally that might be a plus point of taking admission in government college but yes there was a admission fee at my time and approx Rs. 10000/-. I can't tell about the fee structure of management quota but the fee structure is same for every category whether it's GEN, EWS, OBC, SC or ST. Now if I talk about scholarship, we used to fill the form of UP Scholarship every year and also 90% of students got the scholarship of Rs. 52000/- and those who don't receive scholarship due to their academics performance which should be above 45% in a year.
Campus Life
There isn't any annual or technical festivals held in the. But yes there is big auditorium in the college named as Virangna Laxmi Bai Auditorium and there exists only festivals like Independence Day or when any random chief guests used to come for giving motivating and social awareness programmes. Independence Day program happened only once during my whole B.Tech journey. The books and journals in the library isn't much wide, you'll never find the book you need the library and the library staff is also so rude and frastating. Facilities in classrooms are that every classroom is so spacious with modern seats and equipped with smart boards and camera. Very less of such sports and extracurricular activities happen in campus. Some students who are average in academics of ECE department run a student portal of named PIXELAR for clicking/recording photos and videos of college events or functions.
Hostel Facilities
If I talk about hostel, every room is available for 2 students. They provide 2 tables, 2 chairs, 2 cupboards, a ceiling fan and a balcony to every room. Rooms are not so big and not so small. Food quality in mess is just average but it gets improved if you complain 2-3 times. The menu gets change every month. Registration process is so easy, everything is online including registering and paying the fees of Rs. 60000-70000. But yes you should keep in mind for the medical certificate of being fit to get admission in hostel as they demand during physical reporting. There is a timing of going out and coming in the hostel of 6AM - 9PM. In case you want to open the gate in off time you need application for that. Good also need to give prior application for leaving for home so that they can confirm from your parents. There are many rooms and PGs are available in the locality of the college at very affordable price and it costs less than hostel expenditure of whole year.
Admission
I had applied many engineering colleges of UP including some RECs and top engineering college but after counselling I got REC Azamgarh but then I felt location is not so favourable to me so I chose for another round of counselling and got CSJMU Admission process is so simple of the college you just have to write the JEE Entrance Exam then after that if you got your category rank between 100000 and 150000 you'll get admission in the college by paying the security fee to freeze the seat and physical reporting with your original documents.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is 5:1. Faculty to student relationship is very nice as it depends on your skill. Every faculty is approachable if you have patience to go and wait for hours in front of their cabin. The name of some faculty members whom I liked due to their supportive nature and ability to understand the problems of students are Prabal Sir, Varsha Ma'am, PN Pathak Sir, Alok Sir, Deepak Sir, Shah Alam Sir, Kamal Kant Sir, Shiv Kumar Sir. The faculty members whom I don't like due to their frustrated mood or craving to put a back in student's marksheet are DK Sir, RN Katiyar Sir, Ram Nayan Sir, Niyati Padhi Ma'am. There is generally 3 exams in a semester 2 Mid-Sems/ Quizzes and a End-Sem. Difficulty level of exams is not so high as it depends on teacher to teacher and his/her evaluation style. Generally 90% of students got passed in exams and most importantly none of your CPI matters at the time of placement, the thing which matter is only your core knowledge and skill.
Other Applied Colleges
Rajkiya Engineering College - [REC] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Information Technology)
Because it was located in very remote area of the city while CSJMU is in the main city in fact CSJMU has its personal metro station named after the college as 'Vishwavidyalaya' and there isn't any difference in placements of both the colleges so I I didn'
