It is a nit. National Institute of importance. But still, it lags behind private institutions in many parts. Academics and importance are not the cases to win. Providing a good environment and technical knowledge is the key to success.

The course curriculum seems great. It seems like competing with world class universities. Everything is taught technically. Labs are in good condition and the incubation center provides a place to come with the ideas "what if". But the exams are like normal board exams. Practical exams and viva for labs and theoretical exams for theory. The exam structure contains three phases. One is minitest carrying 10 percent of total marks. Then mid sem examinations which carry 20 percent and assignments carry 10 percent and the final end sem carries 60 percent of total marks.

Placements are so good that almost 70 percent of students get placed every year. But the highest and average package is yet to be raised. We are working hard towards it. Yes, the college provides interns in the third year of our course.

There are only a few societies in this Nit. That limits the no.of events annually. But still, we have two fests, cultural and technical. There is a myth that they are the biggest fests in central India.

The fee structure is as per the norms of GoI. Many fee waivers are available for backward classes and economically backward people. Every nit follows the same. And the annual fee will be around 2.1 lakh.

I have received a fee waiver being an economically backward student. For this, we have to submit proof of income of parents. Then the college gives a fee waiver based on the annual income of the parents. In my case, I got the tuition fee waivers. But I didn't receive any scholarships.

It is all just ok. Because there will be competition everywhere and almost all those who have previous experience are boarded. The clubs, societies, sports all follow the same way. They don't give a value for your passion to learn it. What they all need is a previous attachment with that particular skill. Labs are in very good condition.

Some hostels are newly built. They have very good infrastructure and facilities. But yet it seems like a normal hostel. Some colors and facilities should be added more to improve the mood of the students. But we have greenery everywhere. This is awesome.

The alumni network is said to be powerful. But they never cared about what's happening right here. The senior students are all about getting placed with decent packages. No one here is working transparently to achieve something except package. Seniors are somewhat helpful in knowing what's happening and what happened in previous years. But no one here tries to make a change with the new generation.

The faculty are highly professional Almost even an assistant professor also holds a Ph.D. Research always goes on with fellow students. But sometimes one may have to face troubles if they can't understand Hindi which is crucial if you want to live in central India.
