All you want to know about NIET

If you are going ta take admission in any college affiliated to AKTU, then set this in your mind, you 'll have to struggle a lot if you want to grab a job. It's not an IIT or an NIT or an IIIT where you are 90% sure you will get the job. So, be prepared to go beyond your limits.

AKTU decides the course as NIET is affiliated with AKTU. So, the course curriculum is a bit outdated and needs improvement. The exam structure is average. Don't expect to brainstorm questions in the semester exam. Questions repeat in the exam. Questions are easy, but the checking process is hard.

Placement and Job opportunities are good. The companies come and go, offer packages, it's up to you how much you can showcase and outstand yourself from others. No, you have to find an internship on your own, the college only provides industrial visits.

There are a couple of events held in NIET. 1. Tech Fest (biannual). 2. Freshers Party. 3. Seminars and workshops on different topics like cloud computing, AI, IoT, skill awareness by NASSCOM. there was a 1 day workshop on IoT. In that workshop, I learned about embedded programming, how the sensors send data and communicate with one another.

AKTU gives the guidelines to all affiliated colleges to set the fee structure. The fee structure is feasible, compared to other colleges affiliated to AKTU. You will have to deposit 5000 INR as college security money and have to pay the complete fee of a year at the beginning of the session. If you fail to do so, you will be fined.

As far as I know, there is no loan facility offered by NIET. For scholarship, you have to ace your both semester exams in your entire branch, only then, you would be eligible to get the scholarship (I don't remember the name, but I think it is O.P. Aggarwal Award ). You will get around 35000 INR.

Labs are average. There are few extracurricular activities, and for sports, you can't play on college hours. You can play games only after 5:00 PM till you want, but you have to bring your own set of equipments if you want to play late at night.

1.8/5. Hostel food is very bad, you can't eat it. The food is very oily, and the bread is very thin and hard to chew. The menu will change first in winter and second in summer when you will be leaving the college hostel. The infrastructure of the hostel is average. There are not many Western toilets in the hostel and the cleaning of the bathroom is also uneven. The bathroom( attached to your room ) will get cleaned once a week, while the common bathroom will get cleaned twice a week.

The senior students will help guide you if you ask them. But don't just blindly follow their advice, with a calm mind, analyze his/her suggestion and ask your family about your decision and then do it.

Some teachers have in-depth knowledge of their subject. But you have to study on your own if you want to have knowledge about your subject. You may get help if you are learning a programming language (in my case), they will only guide you, but only some of them would do that.
