Likes
- The infra of campus is amazing. All classes are equipped with ACs. Labs are well maintained. But labs still uses some previous tech.
- College also have a IOS development centre.
- Teachers here are well qualified and are motivated towards teaching, they are supportive and are experienced in their subject
Dislikes
- The number of classes and campus size is small as compared to the number of students and dude to that reason there is always a very big crowd
- Due to less number of classes we have three days holidays and four days college. For third year student they have only three working days
- The peer group is not good. The student here are not motivated towards technology they are more oriented towards getting a job.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course has wide aspects but the students are not interested due to the teacher also loses their interest in teaching. The curriculum does not prepare us for real-world applications students themselves have to figure out how they can apply their knowledge in the real world. There can be many improvements made. First, limit the student intake and don't fill the college with a directionless crowd. Second, make the course more technical than theoritical.
Placement Experience
Placements are generally made after 7th semester but students can get PPOs if they apply by their own. Mass hiring companies like Wipro, TCS visits almost every year. Companies like flipkart and amazon sometimes also come but harld take students. My plans after degree is phd .
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fees for btech in CSE is 1,69,000 per annum. During the first year galgotias University take 25k for seat booking so in the first year we pay 1,44,000 as the tution fee those 25k are counted in the total fees and in that 1,44,000 15k is for exam fees. They take 2k as caution money which is paid at the time of admission and it is transferred to Alumni Association membership fees.
Campus Life
The library is not that big. It has very few books as what I expected. There are many clubs in college and they are also active in college . Sports are not give very much importance in the college, generally the students in the histel play sports. Fests are held almost every year
Admission
Every Maths student aspire towards JEE but not everyone clears and those didn't make it to IIT are left with few private colleges options only. Galgotias University give direct admission you just need 60% or above in your 12th grade. I applied for GL bajaj also and I got rejected as they requires 90% or more in 12th grade. I also applied for BML and VIT I got offer letter from both the collges but I joined GU beacuse of low fees. Students should now worry about their admission In GU as anyone who have 60% or above in 12th can get admission.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is low. This is because colleges take many admissions. This is one of the cons of the university. I like the CSS and Physics faculty they teach very nicely and are very friendly. The exams here are moderate level. We have one mid sem then end sem and sometimes a few tests during the semester. Many students fail in the exam. In certain aspects course curriculum is very old this is also the con of the college
