Course Curriculum Overview

3

MBBS curriculum is according to CBME 2019 guidelines. It is well versed and absolutely necessary for becoming a competent and responsible doctor Exams can be expected every three months Difficulty is moderate but varies according to stidents

Fees and Financial Aid

1st year fee was 114500 Second Year is 124000 This fees include tution fees, Hostel fees which is 4000 per year, library fees, Gym fees etc. Exam form fees for Muhs have to be paid separately which is ?4150 this year Fees do not change each year Concession is provided for EWS category who have to pay fees around 60000 Further concession for NT, SC, ST Various goverment Scholarships are available like Swadhar yojana etc and hostel fees can be 0 in some such cases

Campus Life

3

Social environment is healthy but to sustain here you need to make good friends. There is toxicity among groups so you need people you can count on. Remember that not everyone is your friend even if it seems so. Rest of you have good people with you, campus life is fun. Food is a big issue as canteen is not good. Most students prefer outside tiffins. Social gatherings include annual fest, ganish festival.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility is good compared to other government medical colleges Layout is excellent with each student getting personal space in room Each student is given a bed, a table and a chair along with basic things like light and fan and personal cupboard. Canteen and message is a problem. So outside tiffins are preferred but they too are not that good. Main problem is that there is no drinking water in hostel. Cleanliness is well maintained and housekeeping cleans hostel and washrooms everyday.

Admission

RCSM Gmc Kolhapur is better than other colleges like Miraj or solapur or Aurangabad because of improved infrastructure, better climate of kolhapur, patient flow is good, neither too less nor too hectic. Admissions are through neet exam and further councelling after results.

Faculty

2.5

Faculties are all MBBS and post graduate qualified and teaching is completely ppt based according to CBME 2019. They are approachable for academic problems and may even help in some personal problems. Teaching being just ppts is difficult to comprehend as faculty just reads through it. Self study is absolutely necessary MBBS course is 5 and half years. Each year there are two internal Examinations, one preliminary exam and one final University exam. Faculty to student ratio is excellent around 30

I choose the course because I wanted to become doctors from most prestigious college of India. I didn't get seat in AIIMS Delhi so then I choose this college as it is near my home town. The students faculty ratio is 70:12. All the faculty are passed out doctors so they are highly qualified and they teach us in such a way that no need to ask for any doubts. The university conducts exams after every 3 months and we all have to work very hard to pass the exams.
