I like biology to start with. And biotechnology is an amazing area to learn more about bio and technology combined.later in life you can go for research. Many products which are now popular are improved with biotechnology.

This institution collaborates with many companies to give their students the best practical experience in their given fields . Some of the projects done are •Morphed image detection •Analysis of the effects of music on mental health using AI •Text context switch detection •video anomaly detection •audio dub detection •adsorption of emerging poly aromatic hydrocarbons pollutants by magnetic activating carbon (biotechnology)

Placement is low compared to other colleges for biotechnology. 80% of the students gets placed in our college from biotechnology branch. The highest package offered is 55LPA and the lowest is 3LPA depending on the company. Students become eligible from 3rd year. Companies like infosys, TCS, wipro comes to our college every year for placement .

There is an university entrance exam to be attended called NUCAT to join to any course in this college. The registration fees for the nucat exam is 1,500.it can be done through online or offline mode.The nucat exam is easy to moderate .You can choose your course on basis of that score. There are three categories called scholarship, merit and inclusivity. For Btech biotechnology the fees are same for all three categories. Inclusivity is for the students who has done their PU ( 11th and 12th ) from other states other than karnataka as nmamit is located in karnataka.The fees structure is as follows. Tution fees is 1,25,000 yearly.10,000 extra for exam fees and 5000 for books and stationeries. Which is paid during our admission .The tution fees is same throughout the complete course.scholarship is available for courses such as computer science and so.

The annual technical featival held in college is known as INCRIDEA. It is held during the month of January. It lasts for 3 days and everyone in the college can attend .This college gives importance to every cultural festivals like onam, Pooja , garbha, Diwali and so. The library is big and the books are categorized basis of the course . Very student friendly and quiet . There is separate room for people who wanna do group study sessions. There are about 14 clubs run by the students here and students can join to any group of their choice . Example a of the group is aero club,dance , musical, charity , yoga and so on. This college gives a major importance to sports like basketball,throw ball,football and the gym facility here is very good with a very good trainer . It is open for both men and women for free.

Hostel is just of walking distance from the college . The availably is 2 sharing with an attached bathroom ( AC and non AC) . 1,16,000 for non AC and 1,45,000 for AC room . And 3 bedroom with common bathroom which is very neat and tidy ( non AC) . Maintenance is done in alternative days . They sweep and clean the bathroom . The food is really good they give two options such as South Indian and North Indian . I prefer South Indian . They serve curd and egg everyday . Ice creams on special occasions . Chicken and fish is also available if people prefer non veg . The registration process is done during the admission process itself .

Btech in Biotechnology as a course is very less in south India. Only few colleges has the available lab facilities and stuffs. The scope of this course is very much high in coming years. Admission process is through an entrance exam called NUCAT it is of the level easy to moderate.to register for NUCAT the eligibility is to have 50% in PU for PCMB.

The faculty to student ration is 2:8.They are very approachable and friendly. Though there may be one or two teachers in your class who may discriminate toppers and backbencher like every other colleges. The one thing that I noticed is they are equal to eveyone not regarding where they are from. Mr. Janardhana Nayak who is our chemistry faculty is very professional and takes time to explain every experiment in our lab . There is not much to dislike in any faculty here to be frank. There are two sem in a year here . First sem from August to December and the second sem from January to may . June and July will be vacation and then the third sem starts which is the second year. There are two internal in each sem and a final sem end exam . Internals are for 20 marks and the final exam is for 50 marks. There will be task for 4 marks before the internals given as assignment, tests,seminars etc . Lab exams will also be conducted in between.
