What Students Say
Likes
- The fees of the college is affordable. It is truly people university since anyone can complete their education at any age
- Anyone in any part of country can complete their degree given the college has regional centre over there
- Students from all across the age groups and is very diverse
Dislikes
- No college life. Since it is distance university, there is no day to day college
- The classes are online and not truly regulated
- The paper checking is extremely strict. Writing correctly for around 85 marks would get you around 50-55 marks so plan accordingly
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is typical bca syllabus focusing strongly on computer science fundamentals. It's simple if you really understood the subjects, you will be able a build a system of yours on your own after 3 years ofcourse using outdated technology but then learning newer technology would be easy since fundamentals remain same.
Internships Opportunities
No internships at all. This is a distant college suitable for only completing ones degree and not really for someone who wants to build an academic or professional career apart from government jobs. So please consider accordingly
Placement Experience
There is absolutely no hope for placements. Only bpo companies that too in central campus delhi. Sometimes regional centres also have placements but then it is once in a blue moon kind of situation. People usually work when joining the college otherwise they would complete through regular college
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for general category is 7000 every semester so 14000 yearly. I am not sure about the exact concession the sc/st/ovc/ews students receive but it is certainly significant from 10% to 70% directly on overall fees, 14000 yearly is overall fees including all the charges. There is separate charges for exams so bca has 48 subjects including project so 200 for each subject payable at the time of exam form fill up.
Campus Life
Since it is a distance college there is no campus life. Only time you get to visit campus is while you're submitting assignments or writing exams. Definitely you are free to visit on working days of college. There are no restrictions on that.
Admission
The college is a correspondent college. Anyone whose education was interrupted in between and has gaps can apply to college and get admission easily but for few courses, there are entrance exams like mba, or tat
Faculty
Every student is assigned to a regional centre. The faculties are there in the regional centre. In Bangalore regional centre, there are around 4-5 permanent facilities and couple more in contract positions. This regional centre is responsible for more than 2000 students assigned to this regional centre so you can imagine. The favourite of mine was Shankar, the reason is most likely you can bribe him to clear papers and he was caught in 2003 yes two decades ago when he was just junior, now see how far he has come. Sarcasm alert
