Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is relevant with the industry requirements. After the implementation of New Education Policy(NEP) some extra courses like engineering ethics, profession communication are introduced which help in the personal growth of the student. Course is divided into 8 semesters . In every semester there are midsems, endsems, quizzes, assignments. Overall the course curriculum is well managed.
Internships Opportunities
Internships opportunites are quite good here. Several students got internship this year out of which many were converted into Pre Placement offers (PPO) later. MNNIT has its own hackathon known as HACK 36 in which many students from colleges throughout the India participate. Major companies offering internships where Amazon,Google, Microsoft, Apple, Goldman Sachs, etc.
Placement Experience
MNNIT Allahabad is famous for its placements. Placements and internships opportunities are really good here. It ranks 1st among all the NITs in terms of average placement across all the branches. In my branch CSE almost 80% students got placed with the placement session still going on. Highest package for CSE was 72 LPA. Average and median packages for CSE were 25LPA and 24LPA respectively. Overall average package of the college was 17LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
I will be paying around 163000 fees per year including tution fees, 24k/year hostel fees and 50k/year mess fees. The fees of the college is much affordable when compared to other IITs/NITs. On average you have to pay 8/9 lakhs per year for a btech degree at MNNIT Allahabad. Scholarships are easily available here on the basis of income. For people belonging to SC/ST categories, the tution fees is 0 .
Campus Life
Campus life here is great. There are several events, fests going on throughout the year. There are various clubs and commitees in the college like dramatics, modelling , singing ,etc which even take us to other IITs/NITs for participation in their events. Infrastructure of classrooms is too old and needs to be renovated. All types of sports activities are available in the campus. Library is well maintained and air conditioned and it contains thousands of books. Students here run social groups , some students teach under priveleged children.
Hostel Facilities
In first year we get SVBH . It contains 3/4 seating rooms . Each room has an attached study room and an attached balcony. Each room is provided by beds, study tables, chairs, almirahs, lan ports . There are several other facilities provided in SVBH like common rooms , AC halls , night canteen , general store, guest rooms , etc. Quality of mess food is quite good, mess provides meals 4 times a day , mess menu is managed by the mess represenatives which are elected by the students of the hostel. Mess fees is 50k/year and hostel fees is 24k/year.
Admission
I was getting core branches in IITs but my preffered branch was CSE, so i gave on the IIT tag to pursue my desired branch. Another reason for choosing this NIT was because of its good placements and nearness to my home. Admission of this process is through JOSAA and CSAB counselling on the basis of your JEE MAINS ranks . You can check the previous year cutoffs according to your gender and category on the JOSAA official site.
Faculty
Faculty members are highly qualified, experienced and knowledgeable. Most of them are PHD holders. Teaching quality of most of the teachers is good except some . Exams here are difficult. Almost 80% student pass the exams . But the seniors here are very helpful and provide us with the required notes, papers, etc for the examination. Course curriculum is relevant with the industry requirements.
