- Very irregular and irresponsible faculty members
- Washrooms are unaccessible. No one can use them. Not only dirty but dont have windows
- The complaint box is never cleaned and never checked by authorities
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very interesting and every student must study them well but the students lose interest when they see that no professor is willing to conduct classes and leave them alone. They don't even provide suggestions
Fees and Financial Aid
Hello! I'm a student of Calcutta university. Student of south city college. The teachers don't conduct lectures regularly. The camplus isnt neat either. The construction workers have placed bamboos inside washrooms making it impossible to use them. My course here is very affordable but at the same time I believe govt colleges need to take more accountability when it comes to education of the students.
Campus Life
There are ample amount of programmes held in our college but unfortunately only certain people know about it and most people arent aware of theid existence so they dont get involved either. Annual sports day is held around February-March and they provide lunch but dont provide spoons. Theres also a lack of proper breakfast when students are competing in the field. They give a banana and a dry packaged bun.
Admission
I secured 92 % in 12th and I got chance in colleges like Lady Brabourne, Bethune college, Shri shikshayatan college, Bhawanipur education society,murlidhar girls college, basanti devi college but I rejected those colleges because south city college happens to be near my location and I'm aspiring to become a civil servant therefore I wanted to spend most of my time studying at home instead of having to attend long lectures. The colleges I got rejected in: St Xaviers, Jadavpur university, presidency university because the cutoff for general category was too high for me
Faculty
I'm studying BA general. My course feel every year is 7190 + 355 is exam fees charged every semester before exams. The faculty members here are very irresponsible. They only mention which book to follow but never conduct classes which inturn demotivtaes the students and they stop coming. They often cancel classes without letting students know beforehand and students are left waiting in the rooms for nothing. Some teachers are good and responsible but that percentage is very very poor
