Course Curriculum Overview

3

the reason why i chose this course is because of how my favourite subjects were integerated together. the curriculum is mainly academic and theories rather than apllication values. i think the curriculum is average for both real world applications and further academic pursuits, i strongly recommend further academic pursuits once the course is completed preferably a speacialization in the subject the student is intersted in. this will greatly soldify their chances for a good job. I personally feel like they should include a little bit more content into the curriculum. The exsisting one is proper and good but it can be improved. The frequency and timings of the exams are great. They are structured in such a way that the student is not overburdned. If one is updated on classes, has a 75% attendence and have a basic understanding of the topica and modules he/she can easily pass.

Internships Opportunities

2

the university does give you various internship oppurtunities but most of them are paid but at the same time they are beneficial as well. Many organization approach the universities that they give us the best oppurtunities possible. the placement cell helps you as to how to attend the interviews for the internships. personally i have not yet recievd an itntership oppurtunity but i have heard that they are some good oppurtunities.

Placement Experience

2.5

the university maintains a strong industry ties, attracting top recruiters from various sectore like IT, finance, marketing and engineering. the university's placement cell provides students with career guidance, soft skills training and interview preparartion. Notable recruiters include Infosys, Wipro, TCS and Deloitte. The placement process typically starts in the final years, with many students securing interships and full time roles. Average salary packages range from 4 to 6 lakhs with higher packages offered for specialized roles. As for my future plans i am planning to pursue a masters in psycjology with a specialization in climical psychology.

Fees and Financial Aid

For pursuing BA in English, Psycholgy and Journalism at Jain university, i paid 1,50,000 rupees plus a registration fees of rupees 20,000 in my first year. for the second and third year i have to pay rupess 1,50,000. Apart from the tuition fees the only other payment they have asked from me is the examination fess which starts from rupess 1000. the examination fees may increase or decrease according to the number of papers you will be writing in a particular semester. As for the fees payment three options are given to the students. 1.They can pay the fees in full amount. 2. They can pay the fees in two installments. 3. They can choose the Liquiloan services where you you can pay the fess in 8 installments with zero interest. International students have to pay over 2 lakhs for the same course. As far as my knowldege there are no scholarships available other than sports. I think they might have some but personally i am not sure about it.

Campus Life

2.5

There are mainly a talent show called Anveshna for the freshers and many small stalls are set up at the quadrangle to support various causes. These are organized by various clubs that are present at the campus. There are many club present for the students to be a part of and socialise. There are various clubs like psychology, literature, journalism, economics, public speaking and many more. The university has a very good sports program where they take the athletes to participate in various events. The classroms especially our floor is well equipped are very good. The college library is also well planned and is the perfect space if you want to calmly complete your work and need a peaceful environment to focus. it has a good range of educational magazines and newspapers. There are many reference books for a wide variety of subjects as well.

Admission

I applied to Christ University and Manipal University along with Jain. I was rejected by both since i was underprepared and could not cope up with some of their policies. Jain is pretty laid back comapred to these colleges and has a very flexible schedule. It is definitely more student friendly and doesn't burden their students much. The cutoffs for Jain i believe is 45%. To apply to Jain one should pass their 12th grade from any certified board. To get into the course, one should first clear the JET exams by Jain and then give a personal interview. once both these are done you are good to go. the admin team will get back to you within a month

Faculty

4.5

Most of our faculty are good and wants us to do our best. Most of them have Phd in their respective fields and are good teachers. All the teachers are friendly and tries their level best to make us understand the topics that they are covering. Some of the faculties i like would be Dr. Tahiya Afsal from English departement, she one of the senior professors from the admin team. She is one of those people who has a lot of wisdom and we will be hanging onto every word she will be saying. Dr. Tarannum Sarwar and prof. Manisha patel from the Psychology department are also very good and the way they explain the concepts are very good. As for the exams, each semester we have two sets of exams, the preperatory exams which is out 50 and the end semester exams which is out of 50. There are 3 internal assesments(IA) carrying 10 marks each. 5 marks are for attendence and class participation. The 50 marks of prep.exams will be tallied to 10. So the total marks will be 100. 50: final exam, 50: IA.

Interview Experience

5

to get into the university i had to pass the JET examinations conducted by the university, which for me was taken in the online mode since i come from a different state. the interview was followed by a personal interview where the interviewer asked me about my opinions on prominent topics. it basically tested me as the person and evaluated my intellect. i prepared for these using my 12th grade learning materials. the test was not very difficult but not easy as well. other than these two rounds there were no other rounds. if there are any doubts regarding any step during the admission process and the fees payment the admin team will help you at every step. the executives all frirndly and will help you thoroughly.

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
