Likes
- Firstly I will start with the faculties as that is what has made our college rank among the top.
- Next would be the academics as they are competent to teach us all aspects of engineering.
- Last it's the placement over the past 2 years of my joining. The trend is heading upward and the day is not far when MNCs like Google and Microsoft too start coming to our college.
Dislikes
- Most students are still here from the state and therefore the cosmopolitan culture which we see in IITs is missing here.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am from Uttar Pradesh and you ask anyone here the top college in the state for Engineering. After IIT Kanpur it's IET and I am glad, I got admission here. Our course has all the things that we will be working for in the future as Industry requirement have influenced most of what we study.
Placement Experience
Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Google, TCS and likewise many others are a part of our core group placements. All of them come with a requirement of at least 10-15 students each and thereby making sure that maximum students or let's say each one of us have placements in dream companies. A record breaking 49 lakhs was offered to one of our seniors and that itself speak on the kind of placements we have at IET.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees has Increased every year but with a small margin. Like I am in my third year and this year I have paid 1 lakh Fourteen Thousand and Seven Hundred and Seventy Five. For students of other categories the state run scholarship programs give them an aid worth 20-50%.
Campus Life
Since we have numerous department every department is free to have their own fest. The common fests though are Techno India and Encore. One is tech fest and the other one is cultural fest and both of them are just too good to be compared with any private institutions of the country. Th campus is bigger than most and facilities are like you name it and we have it.
Admission
IIT Kanpur which is one of the oldest IITs was in my target list. However, you have to be a top ranked JEE student to get admission there and since I was no where close, I had to settle for my second choice. I am not lodging a complaint though as our curriculum is as good as theirs and soon the placements too will.
Faculty
Faculties here are hired every year just to make sure that college is never short in this front. I don't see a reason for not liking them as they are all adept in their job. Their teaching acumen and the kind of degrees and research paper they have in their names are enough to prove who credible they are.
