Course Curriculum Overview
Literature never gets irrevelent be it of any kind. Its like fine wine, the older it gets, the finer it becomes. Once you get a UGC NET degree after this course, you can teach in colleges where vacancy is available. Its uncomprehensible for students who enroll in the course without learning the English language and do not have literary bent.
Internships Opportunities
I was a part of NSS and it gave me various opportunities of internships in NGOs. There wasnt any paid internship that I was part of, but overall it was holistic. The Leadership Training service under NSS provided great opportunities to serve the underpriviledged and also provided for letter of recommendation to students who were very active throughout volunteering .
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure was around 12000 per year, which made it nearly 24000 for the entire course. It changes year wise but minimalistically . It becomes professional as your dedication can get you your professor's recommendation to teach in any college provided you have cleared UGC NET.
Campus Life
The college life was great. It has a great library where a bibliophile can spend its entire day. Its culturally diverse as students from all over the country come here to pursue different courses. There are many clubs that you can join according to your interest.
Admission
I applied in both Jawaharla Nehru University and Delhi University. I couldnt make it to JNU because of its high cut off that year, though I missed with just 4 marks. It wasnt at all regretful as both the universities and equally good on many levels. Infact Delhi University's Department of English has been ranged among the top 600 English Department in the world globally. The admission was entrance based, so the entire admission process was conducted online with a physical verification of original documents .
Faculty
Needless to mention, the faculty members are very learned. Its a Delhi University college, so its obvious that the faculty recruited are well experienced, knowledgeble and defy heirarchy. The single most important thing and the commonest among all the faulty member was that they wanted us to learn and enquire more and more. Inquisitiveness was what they wanted to see in us. The course was 2 years long with 2 semesters every year and assignments before every semester which carried 25 marks including the 5 marks for assignment.
