Reviewing BMS College of Engineering Bangalore

Negative, as it is located in the heart of Bangalore, they is a lot of traffic in and around college and it’s very hard to find a parking space if we get a car. Positive side, I have a huge list. Most of which I’ve mentioned above as answers to different questions.

Depends from department to department. HoD of our department recently changed and things have changed drastically, in a good way. Labs aren’t the same anymore. It’s more of analysing. Classes are more interesting and department also promotes co and extra curricular activities between students of each semester internal to our department. Schedule is kind of hectic but we’re really enjoying it!

I’m a student of 4th semester. Placements for internship begin only from 6th semester. Looking forward towards it. College has a placement cell which organises sessions for developing engineers every now and then.

Our department comes up with interesting events every week. That’s on every Thursday. From cultural to academical domains, our department focuses on overall development of the student. We also have a technical and a cultural fest happening every year! It has maintained a legacy of maintaining no entrance fee ever since they started organising this fest.

If for a merit student, fee structure is quite affordable. All comedk and cet fees are structured by the organisers and the college. For the infrastructure and education they provide, I’d call it a fare price. (Only if merit)

I’ve availed a student loan which I’m paying for myself. They helped me get the documents and everything that was needed initially as soon as possible. About scholarships, they focus mainly on the under previledged students.

BMS promotes every possible extra curricular activity. It’s all about how you want to make the best of it while we’re there. We have most of the similar opportunities on a departmental level too. College also promotes IEEE for all the interested students and it is great club to be a part of.

I’m a localite. We get access to the mess food once in a week and they DO NOT compromise on the quality. They have separate hostels for girls and guys in and around college. They also provide buses for hostels outside college.

Yeah. They are quite helpful. Again depends on the kind of people you approach. Most alumni say that BMS slowly changed their life in a way they didn’t even realise. Probably I’m going to say that one day too. Everything for the better.

Can’t comment on the college faculty, but faculty of our department are too good. Most of the teachers are PhD scholars and their way of teaching as in analytical approach is too good. Teachers from our department are really dedicated and committed to making us good engineers
