Likes
- The teachers had a really hands on method to make the students learn, they were very approachable.
- There were a lot of clubs to ensure students had more exposure to other activities other than what was in the curriculum.
- The curriculum met the industry standard which helps in the placement process
Dislikes
- The distance between the blocks and parking is way too much, spent 40 mins in a day walking to and from parking.
- strict rules in place so that students cannot leave the campus during college hours without procuring permission from the faculty
- poor boys to girls ratio in most departments, meaning more boys and very few girls.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very well equipped to land the students who take them to get placed in top companies if they really put in the work. The curriculum has people from real world compaines give lecture to improve the students problem solving capabilties, the improvements could be done in the lab practicals where the questions can be moderated and not so difficult to answer.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester, the companies that visit are Wipro, Oracle, Comviva, Cisco, Intuit etc, the highest offer that was made was 42 LPA from intuit, the avg wiuld be around 4.5 LPA, almost 95 percent of the students who opt for placement get placed. I plan to become an entrepreneur.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am a BC student from Coinbatore, the management quota was 400000 per year and the merit quotas had various slabs starting from 100000 per annum and going upto 325000, as I did not opt for hostel I dont have any idea about the hostel and mess fees, I did not get any resrvation benefits, depending on the score you achieve in the Amrita Entrance exam you get put into different slab fee structures with the least being 100000 and highest being 325000.
Campus Life
The gokulashtami and anokha are the most significant fests held in the university, there is a huge library with a large number of books, largely for educational purposes available to the students. There are well equipped state of the art labs for the students to let their creativity flow. Sports is not given much importance in the college. There are many student run groups but i am not familiar with the names.
Admission
I applied to this college because I was aware of my capabilities, i was not going to get into IIT'S and this was the next best option in Coimbatore, the placement that is offered is quite competetive compared to the only other top college in coimbatore that is PSG, the admission process was cery easy, once i wrote the entrance and the result came I got a offer letter with the fee slab allocated for me and after accpetance they ask for a few vital documents like TC, mark certificates etc.
Faculty
The faculty student ratio is not exactly known, but I would say there are enough faculties to take care of every day proceedings in the campus, the staff are very approachable and ready to help you any avenue, the exams are quite difficult if your aim is to get the top marks, but for a average student to get average marks it is quite easy, a good number of students fail few papers because they lack in internals. All the teachers and likable they dont do any discrimination.
