Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good like almost every college offers similar curriculums only, so there are no issues in that. It prepares us at the basic level and for advance you have to prepare by yourself. I am satisfied with the course curriculum and teaching methods. There should be only one midsem exam according as with two it feels like we are giving exams every month and because of this we have less time for our own works. Also exams are not easy, infact few are quite tough.

Placement Experience

4

There are no on campus internships for 3rd year student. You be able to sit in placements and internships program from final year onwards though few professors are try to make E-cell active again so that 3rd year could also apply for internships. More than 80% of students get places and last year highest package offered was 36 lpa and average package was around 8.5 lpa. I'll go for both on campus and off campus placement sessions.

Fees and Financial Aid

The first year fees including tution fees, hostel fees and mess fees will bhi approx 200000 and then for next 3 years it will be approx 187500. Fee waiver option is also available for students with very low income (atleast income<100000). Other than this you can apply for UP scholarship have many more private scholarships.

Campus Life

3

See, the infrastructure is ok ok and what else can you expect from a 100 years old college. Earlier very good fests were conducted but last year i.e. 2023-24 no fest was conducted. Even getting permission for a club's orientation is very difficult. The college would have been much better if the funds were used for college purposes only. Sports facilities are mediocre. All the clubs and communities are run by students only, the college does not support anything. Also classrooms are very normal.

Hostel Facilities

4

Each person in a room will be provided with one almirah, one table, one chair and one bed. Hostel is not very expensive and hence are the things provided by it. Hygiene and cleanliness in mess is questionable and the food is also not good . You can register for hostel through the college portal.

Admission

I gave jee mains and advance exam and at my jee mains rank i was not getting CSE, IT and ECE at any of the tier 1 nits. And as I belong to UP, it is believed that HBTU kanpur is kind of comparable to nits. It is said it's better to choose HBTU over tier 2 nits. Also i was getting my preferred and hences i choosed this college. Here the quality of students is very good and hence a very competitive environment is their. If you are a UP resident student and is unable to get top branches in NITs then HBTU is a good choice. If you are a general candidate your rank must be under 35000-36000 for getting IT branch

Faculty

3

Knowledge wise faculty members are good and they grant marks fairly but some of the professors wants to create their aura and hence cut marks purposely. Also it is very difficult to approach any faculty members for their help or consent in something. There are two mid sems and one end sem in a semester. The course is a bit tough than private colleges and easier than iits and nits. In every branch there are always 2-3 students with year back.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.
