BHU overview as an arts student.

Geography honours has got lots of scope and graduating from BHU has an edge over it. We get practical classes 3days/ week and theory classes for rest 3 days. In practical classes we are taught how to deal with real outside problems which we may face in our job profile. Some improvements can be done, like there can be more no. of atlases in our classes. Exams are conducted after every 2-3 months and their difficulty level is on par with other outside renowned colleges.

As a BA Hons students, not much internship program are available. But one can easily get one with their other skills and also campus provides lots of other internship opportunities. One can avail them easily.

I have opted for BA Geography hons. Currently the academic fee for the 1st semester is ?1150, which is for 6 months. Also, I have got hostel accommodation based on my marks in CUET examination. Hostel fee is ?5375 for 1st semester, i.e for 6 months. In hostel we get all basic facilities. Also, campus is beautiful and a perfect place to complete your arts honours. My other classmates who opted for paid seats are paying almost ?10k for semesters. There is no scholarship or financial aid which is provided in general. Only when someone is below poverty line can get some financial aid from the state govt.

Throughout the year festival and events are organised in the campus. From debates to sports activities to other co curriculur activities are organised throughout the year. One can easily participate in any one of their choices. Classes are well lit, with good ventilation. Though building are quite old, yet they are still as beautiful as they might would have been when they were made. All different kinds of sports are played in the campus. Different social groups are also there, which take parts in social practices.

Hostels are equipped with all necessary facilities. Be it drinking water or 24x7 electricity facility. Sports ground are also present in them. Wifi facilities is available throughout the campus. Bathrooms are regularly cleaned. All inquires are immediately dealt with. Mess has to improved a bit.

BHU campus is beautiful, besides it is quite pocket friendly. Also the scenic beauty which we get in its surrounding area is quite overwhelming. One can easily visit other ghats in the areas everyday, which is dream for many young generation boys and girls. I was also getting Shaheed Bhagat Singh college of DU but it was costing me almost 15k per month at least to stay in Delhi and complete my graduation.

Faculty members and professors are quite friendly. They help us whenever it's required. Exams are conducted after every 2-3 months and they are taken in strict vigilance. My faculty is obviously one of the best. But IIT BHU is on another level. Their faculty is one of the best in campus. While BA arts faculty is not taken care of that frequently.
