Reflection of my college: A review of growth and learning

Our curriculum is mostly based on research and industrial approach which made me choose this occupation as I have a great interest in research and development of drugs. The curriculum helps in research based approach and many testings that are done on drugs which is very inside full and helpful for the future of pharmacist and scientists. As a pharmacist we want our course to also include the counselling and patient related approach which is not yet been included into a syllabus. Semester has an exam every month so it is a very hectic schedule for students. One cannot prepare for their competitive exams.

From 7th semester the students become eligible for the campus placements companies like cipla, zydus, intas, Sanofi etc comes for the placement. After bachelors in pharmacy the maximum package of world is around 400000 per year and depends upon the students mostly the students go for masters in pharmacy abroad or in India but almost 100% students walked for the placement at placed in some other company after the degree I want to pursue masters of pharmaceutical science in USA

Here one needs to pay fees per semester which is about 57,000 and 1,025 is the university examination form fees. Each year has 2 semesters and hence it is about 117050rs per year. College doesn't provide any financial assistance but government subsidies are provided to students with low family income whic is MYSY. Where government sends the fees of even numbered semesters( 2,4,6,8) directly to the bank account of beneficiary.

Annual function such as apocalypse and cultural fest takes place once each year. Sports Buzz and many other sporting activities are done in the university there are also many teams sent from a University in interstate and inter College tournaments. Is a library with the subscription of many journals and computers for the students. There are no student and social groups but there are many social activities carried out by the University.

I choose this college yes it was established in 1990s it has a relatively longer amount of experience in making pharmacists compared to other colleges in my state. Also accepted in the Charusat University in Anand but as I am living in Ahmedabad it was very hard to commute that so I choose this university over that. I was rejected from the Nirma University based on the merit list of course. In my college the admission process is completely based on the acpc merit list. Which is prepared from gujcet exams in my state.

Each department has around 3 lectures and 2 assistant professors and 1 HoD. There are about 24 teachers and 100 students in the batch. Students are also why did with mentors which helps in their interaction regarding academics. Senior faculties such as Dr. Hitesh Dodiya and Dr. Niranjan kanaki have a varied portfolio on research and industry through which they provide a hands on information to their students and very interesting and insightful lectures. Whereas newly appointed faculties are very novice and literally freshers so they are not that interesting which results in students skipping their classes. Each semester has around 3 exams 2 sessional exams and one University exam. Difficulty level is moderate and can be easily passed. Nearly 5% students fails to clear the exams. Course curriculum is centralised across India through PCI each and every pharmacy college follows the same curriculum.
