Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for BCA because I'm interested in developing and designing. KJC is one of the top colleges for BCA. The curriculum is up to date and apart from that the college hosts a lot of text events for students to learn and showcase their skills. It also conducts extra short term courses for interested students to join and learn in depth about the topic.
Internships Opportunities
Top companies that comes to KJC are KMPM, EY, Deloitte, Amazon, Accenture, HDFC Bank, South Indian Bank etc. These companies usually comes for the campus placements. Every department has a different average package amount. For BCA it's usually 4-5lpy
Placement Experience
Most of the students from BCA go for MCA and not placements. I'm in first year and I've not yet seen the placement process on my own so I can't say much but from what I've read and heard, the average package is 4-5 lpa. As per my plans, I'm not sure yet.
Fees and Financial Aid
The yearly fees for the course is different for each year for the 1st year it was 1.10 lakhs that is the tution fees. Including all the registration fees and extra charges it might go up to 1.50 lakhs. For students from Karnataka, the fees are less than non-Karnataka students. I don't really know if there's scholarship or not.
Campus Life
Campus, Social Life majorly depends on your social skills and your willingness to interact with new people and participate when new opportunities come. There are department fests happening at all times for different departments. My first tech fest was in September called synchronise. Campus has 3 pretty big libraries with vast number of books. There are many sports clubs and anyone who's interested can register and get selected for it. The classroom facilities are moderate, not the best but also not the worst. All the clubs and social groups are mostly handled by students and faculty gets involved only when they're needed, they give students all the space to manage the club.
Admission
My top choice was Christ Central campus because it's probably the best college in Bangalore if you want exposure and opportunities, but I didn't get in because I didn't have maths in my 12th. I also applied for SJU and got in but my second choice was KJC as it has better ranking and opportunities. To get into KJC you have to give online interview scheduled by them and after that you'll be informed via email if you got accepted or not. It's a pretty easy process.
Faculty
The faculty student relationship is quite commendable. Till now all the faculty members I've interacted or came across with are really helpful. The teaching skills and style of faculty is good. In 1 sem there are 2 exams mid sem exam and end sem exam and a few unit tests depending on the subject faculty. The exams are moderate to easy. Marking scheme of teachers differ but overall the exams are not that tough to pass.
Interview Experience
There's no test or GD. I only had a interview round. The question we're pretty simple related and to 12th class computer science. The ask you to talk yourself followed with a few subject related questions. My interview lasted for just 5-10 mins.
Other Applied Colleges
Christ University | Bachelor of Computer Applications [BCA]
Saw great reviews about the college and the ranking and placement of the college is also good.
