Likes
- There are very frequent industrial visits and educational trips arranged for the students. These trips help to know about companies and the working environments which is necessary for the students during the placements
- Social interaction: there are no issues such as ragging, all the students are very cooperative and helpful as well as friendly in nature.
- TPP lectures: these are for the placement preparation. 3 lectures Aptitude, verbal and technical skills. The teachers interact with students and solve the queries.
Dislikes
- Sometimes there are issues in lab computers that they do not work properly due to which lab lectures are wasted.
- There is a lot of gap days between the final exams of PTU. There are only 4 subjects and the exams span is about a month.
- Fees is too high for middle class people, also there is deadline for students to pay the fees. Additional charges are also added sometimes like for freshers party and parivartan event.
Course Curriculum Overview
Sometimes the time is short for final exams as there are 4 long questions of 10 marks and we have to complete them in 3 hours. It is not sufficient. There should be a little change in exam pattern that 3 long questions are there instead of 4 and 3 marks questions should be in section A. That would help a lot.
Internships Opportunities
I worked in skillforge company as an intern. It was a good experience and my course was Data science with python. A major and a minor project was given to us to prepare at the end and we got certificates for it.
Placement Experience
In 5th semester the students are eligible for the placements and many companies like TCS, Wipro, The Mathco. , Cognizant are among that visit the campus for placements. Upto 26 LPA is the package offered by them and i plan to take placement from the campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees for my course Bachelors in Computer Applications is 78200 rs per year (39100 rs per semester). Registration fees was 1000 rs. The fees is not increasing and is same for all semesters in my college.
Campus Life
First is the Freshers party called Jashan on which a singer from punjab industry comes for the concert. The biggest annual fest is Parivartan which is held every year in october. Its of 2 days and celebrities like Gurnam bhullar jassie gill babbal rai and milind gaba come for concert. Dance clubs, sports events and many more opportunities for students.
Admission
I applied in Mullana University, Ambala. I got confirmed admission in it but cancelled it because there was a compulsion of 90% attendance in that college and also placement rates are less in it. I found a better opportunity in Chandigarh group of colleges Landran.
Faculty
One teacher for 60 students in a class.. the teachers are really friendly with students and help them solve the problems. Rubina mam who teacher CSA in 2nd sem, Manmeet mam who teachers C programming in 1st sem and Simran mam who teaches technical skills in 3rd sem are some of the best teachers. Ravia mam is also very nice. She teaches python and adobe photoshop.
