BSc Nautical Science course review

It is mainly a pre sea course so it gives well training for the duties that should be carried at sea its gives us an idea on how we should act during various situation onboard ship like firefighting,rescue and other operations like welding, carpentry, plumbing etc Its is a course which keeps you 24/7 busy like morning there is pt then parade,class at night we have muster

Since its a seafarers course companies come to take cadets for the duties in ship like commercial,cargo etc Top companies like MEARSK, Vship, Dynacom, NYK, Fleet like companies comes to the university

The placement are based on theri academic performance and are abel to sit for placement interview from 2 semester of first year itself The university offers 90% placements and for those who don't get placed are given small job in university and are listed for upcoming companies for interview and for getting placed a cadet should maintain a cgpa of 7 to 8.5

The fee should be paid based on term wise like for even term its 1300000 while for odd its 1500000. The total coast of this course for my batch was 1350000 but now it increased to 14 lakhs. About the scholarships there is wide scholarships for ST,SC and General caste and other scholarships also like for students coming from fisherman community, or is a girl child etc For my course a lot of companies comes with high packages comes for cadets like FLEET,Dynacom,NYK.... . If students attempt the AMET CET conducted by the collage through which they give study with placement AMET is good for girl cadets as in the forst sem itself companies come for girls but for boys its starts from 3 semester

There are wide variety of clubs in the university and each year there are programs conducted by each department where collage across India comes to participate. There prefomance in each club gives them badges and stripes which gives an good impression on the interviewer

Since its a DG course we have to stay in hostel inside the campus and should have 100% attendance there are hostel inspections regularly And everyday seniors come to check the room cleanliness. Each room consist of 4 cadets with bunkers fan and every month they give a pair of bed sheets About the food the breakfast is good and about the lunch is of poor quality and utensils like sppons are not properly cleaned

I came to know about this collage through my relative because this is the only campus which gives the opportunity of admission with placement other collage gives placement during our course and also many companies comes for taking cadets The admission is based on IMU CET ranking and interview done by the collage and for this course the PCM should be more than 60% and in english it should be more than 70% and also we have to show a medical report from a DG Shipping certified doctor that says we are fit for sailing

The faculty student relation are good with most of the teachers but some teacher are not that much intractive. My favourite faculty is Officer Chandrashekran Sir he is very cheerful and supports the studends and his teaching style is also very good. About exams in the first sem there are 3 exam assessment modal and end sem but for rest semester there are 2 assessment exam model exam and final Internal marking are based on assignment,attendance,assessment exam and modal exam And external mark is based on end sem exam We need to pass both external and internal
