My college journey

The Cochin College is a college that shows the tradition of the kochi people. The infrastructure is too bad and there are no hygienic bathrooms for both genders. Teachers should be more concerned about their students rather than neglecting them

BA course curriculum is good because it is divided into 6 semesters and each semester has an exam. Exam structure comes with 6 semester exams. There are 5 subjects in each semester and the total mark is out of 100 ( 80 marks for the main semester exam and 20 from the internals exams) . In between each semester there is an internal examination. During each semester there are multiple assignments students should submit.

There are no placement from the college because it is an government aided and a degree college and there are no internship programs. Our college Conduct programs like job fairs every year from the private sector companies.

Events : College election Arts week ( 4 days arts program) Sports week ( 4 days sports activities) Magazine day( publishing the year magazine) Union day ( inauguration of the union of the college) Holi( celebrating Holi with Colors) Food fest ( serving Indian tastes) Department wise FUTSAL ( football competition)

There are no fees for BA English literature. The only fees to be paid is the exam fees. The fees is affordable. There are fee concession for SC/ST. The fees are paid to the university since it is a government Collge.

E grant and many other government approved scholarships are offered to students who performed good in their higher secondary. They get money each year in the bank account. It can be used for their further studies. There are no loan facility offered by the college.

There are many extracurricular activity in the college. The college science labs are good enough, the Collge ground is Not maintained properly. Traditional dances , songs , mime , drama etc are promoted by the college and the college union.

The college has no hostel facility because 95% of the students are coming from nearby places and only 5% are coming from far way places. There is no need for hostel in the college. College infrastructures is not feasible.

The alumni students only come to my College for writing their supplementary examinations. There are alumni gatherings happening in the college every year. The alumni group are not that helpful since in Kerala after graduation most students go abroad for job or higher studies.

Faculty are least concerned about the students but are concerned about finishing their portions on time. They don’t care about any students , they only care about their monthly Salaray which is a big one.
