Course Curriculum Overview

5

My family is into textile business and we have hored designers so it was important from someone in the family to learn designing. Our course is amazinf as tp perople from fashion world come to our university to teach us. We have a practical course and threfore throughout we have to be on our toes.

Placement Experience

5

Many textile companies like Snitch, Arvind Mills, and others which anyways offeres internship to fasion designing students are the ones who also hires students of our branch. On an average 5-6 lakh jobs are offered while some star their own business after graduating from here. My plans after degree is to join my family business as we are a textile manufacturer.

Fees and Financial Aid

Presidency University School of Design all courses fees is almost the same and that is 3 lakhs a year. The fees actual is 3 lakhs but i got scholarship due to merit and my fees came down to 2.55 lakhs. I got scholarship on merit while SC/ST students get automatic scholarship of 30% and hence they have to pay 2.1 lakhs a year.

Campus Life

5

Fests are just to good here as recently a MindRocks event happened and Jonita Gandhi was invited to perform. She lit up the entire campus as it was that good. Our annual fest is called Invincia which happens just before the final semesters. The campus is quite big as it is over 60 acres in area and has the best of auditorims, open amphitheatres and sports grounds. The campus even has both boys and girls hostel too.

Admission

PES Universty was among one of the choices but i think Presidency University School of Design is much better. Firstly a very small batch size and we are taken on tours. Admissions are based on 12th result and then the finl round of counselling is done through an interview. One has to clear that as only then the admissions are given because seats are few.

Faculty

5

Student and faculty ratio in our course is just too good as we all work simultaneously. Teaching is what they dobut in the world of fashion, since the trend changes, they also learn with us alongside. Yes the maths of it is taught by them and also the technicality but we both work in tandem.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum here feels more practical and idea driven rather than just theory based which was one of the main reasons I chose this course it focuses on design thinking creativity and real execution instead of only textbook learning One of the strongest parts is how it slowly builds your understanding from basics to advanced concepts through projects assignments and presentations this helps in preparing for real world work because you are constantly creating and improving your portfolio rather than just studying for exams The curriculum does prepare you for industry to a good extent especially in terms of creative thinking software usage and project handling but it can improve by including more updated trends real time industry briefs and collaboration with professionals which will make it even more relevant Teaching methods are mostly interactive and practical but sometimes they can include more workshops guest sessions and exposure to current market tools to enhance learning experience Exams are conducted with two internal assessments of around 40 marks each followed by a final semester exam of 70 marks theory and 30 marks practical the difficulty level is moderate if you attend classes and complete your work regularly it is manageable Overall the curriculum is strong in building creative foundation and practical skills but with a few updates and more industry exposure it can become even more effective for future careers

Course Curriculum Overview:

We have really packed timings. We also have a lot of chances. Like an exchange program, internships and many chances to act or work in actual projects. I really hope they could teach us animation in the course and it would really help if the clubs are active. For every exam we have to come up with something new totally out of the box. sometimes we also have to work overtime.

Students become eligible for placements after their graduation project in the 8th semester which is the 4th year. A good number of companies around 8-10 come for the campus placements. The minimum package starts from 6 lakhs and can go up to 20 lakhs per annum. Almost 70% of the students get an on campus placement. Some get an off campus placement as well. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters in my field.

There is some issue in placement, though we get placement the scope for the future through these placements are not that great. Many students fail to get proper placements. The scope or plan for many students is to try and open a new brand or collaborate with other students to create a new brand.
