Course Curriculum Overview

4

I think the course curriculum is good We to to complete a total of 162 credits which included a variety of couses such as: Foundation Core, Discipline linked engeneering sciences, Discipline core, Discipline elective, projects and internships, open elctives , bridge courses, multi disciplinary Electives These all courses will teach student to effectively learn real life situation like handling academic pressure while managing social life and cultural activities. Also helping student to get to know and try a variety of interests. There are some cons to courses such as outdated syllabus, undetailed study, but they introduce us to the subjects now its our job to dig down and get extensive knowledge

Internships Opportunities

4

The internships in VIT start after 1st year. The college offer variety and a number of internship from various company in various fields We have a VIT mail in which the details of internships and projects comes regularly any student interested in any field can reach out to them using the email. We get email for management post, technician post, development guy, coding guy, backhand student, fronthand, etc

Placement Experience

4

The placement team of VIT Vellore is one of the greatest advantages of this college. The team is really really strong and have really good connections all over the world with all the giants. From Amazon, Flipkart, Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Zomato, various financial organisations, and many more companies which gives a decent package Student become eligible to sit for placement after 7th semester Last year a total of 1100 student got placed in computer science engineering. The average package last year was 13 lakh the median was 10 lakh The highest CTC was wos 1 crore Due to the high population of VIT Vellore only 5 to 7% students get a job which is a very good number considering the population. In the duration of these 4 years of my college I would really like to enhance my skill in my interest such as video editing, graphic designing, I also like to code but I will be seen in which field I will be going as of now I am exploring all of these field out of which video editing is my favourite, Before getting my degree I would really like to do some freelancing work and try to handle my monthly expenses on my own I also like to write about random topics and want to share my ideology After getting my degree I want myself to be capable of securing a good job in a reputed company, from there on I will be gathering my work experience. For my further studies I want to do MBA

Fees and Financial Aid

Currency: Rupes Our college fees system is based on the category one secures, for themselves after writing the VITEEE Exam, based on the rank in the exam a student opts for the desired branch they wants to study. We get to make our own choice list like JOSSAA, and based on rank we get our branch and category category 1 : 200000, under 1000 rank category 2 : 300000, under 5000 rank category 3 : 400000, under 10000 rank category 4 : 450000, under 15000 rank category 5 : 500000, under 20k- 25 rank (per academic year) Caution fees is 3000 (refundable) All other fees like lab, developmental are included in this only Hostel fees is seperated(2 bed, 3 bed, 4 bed , 6 bed , 8 bed, AC ,NON AC) Mess fees is included in hostel fees(veg , non veg ) Security deposit of 15000 has to be given for hostel and another 15000 which is refundable after completion of course (Total 30000) The fees for the four years is the same and does bot increases. If you have a lower category then it is affordable, otherwise its expensive

Campus Life

5

There are two major events held in VIT Gravitas - Tech Fest I attended this and it was like a festival, it had over 200 activities involving over 2000 students from technical team, management team, conducting team, and many more There were so many events such as rocket building, robo wars, stargazing, hackathons, funny events, workshops like gsoc, etc Rivera - Cultural Fest This is the most anticipated fest of VIT as a well known personality arrive here to do a concert which is really really amazing all students come and dance together, there are dances musical events which are very cool, we can participate in any of the events, people come on stage and play music instrumental, The name of all libraries Periyar library, It is a really really good library with over 2 lakh books, audio books, journals, ebooks, magazine etc It covers all categories and types which a student might need be at they preparation for UPSC or MBA or any other competitive exams From modern topic such as nanotechnology, space exploration to ancient books about history, geography All classrooms are equipped with projector whether teacher can show up slides with images which is a very good method for interactive and interesting lectures The campus has numerous badminton courts in each hostel and a dedicated court for professional players It has four gyms It has tennis courts, table tennis, basketball courts, marathon ground, swimming pool volleyball court The students are also very talented and look forward to grows their skills in following sports. If any student want to start any type of club which is not already registered any new concept they can registered and run a club with an ideology they have to present it to the concern authorities

Hostel Facilities

4

A student can opt for any type of room according to his budget and convenience (Both AN NON AC) Non AC rooms are cheaper yes rooms are affordable around 15000 per month for the best room that is 2 bedroom AC The registration process for the rooms only depends on the merit of the student that is according to performance in the semester they are been given a rank which considers all factors such as the branch they are in. Yes this system is good and bad as there is a reservation system for those whose population is less, for a CSE student they have to score really really good to get a good hostel ranking, according to the hostel ranking they get to choose the room each year, if you don't get your desired room no matter what you have to stay in that room only which you have got 2 bedroom ,3 bedroom ,4 bedroom ,6 bedroom 8 bedroom and the fees reduces as we increase number of person per room. The food of the mess is really really good and diverse its caterers to the food which is served all over India it contains protein it has carbohydrate it as minerals it has green foods, till now with food I had no problem it is really good they give three times breakfast lunch dinner and a snacks

Admission

I choosed this college because of few reasons: Couldn't clear IIT or NIT I tried for 3 years but couldn't secure a good general category rank, I was really questioning myself and last attempt i got 95 percentile, I was tired yet satisfied, didn't get any NIT but wrote VITEEE and secured 15000 rank, I also applied for UGEEE(way too tough ), COMEDK(didn't liked the colleges in it) I think I wasted a lot of time during lockdown, I was not focused cause I couldn't see my competition, though I was a bright child My brother, who was here recommended this college and said you really need to work hard here Its NIRF ranking was really good -8th This college had a diverse variety of students from all over India and hence partiality for one category of student was not there, also the students here are not for reservation The admission process for this college was simple, just register for the exam, the exam had questions from chemistry physics mathematics English and general aptitude Based on the performance of your exam you get a rank with that rank you get to choose your course and the category the college offers category 1 to category 5 with increasing tuition fees.

Faculty

4

The faculty are hard working and like 70 percent of them are good at teaching. The student to faculty ratio is around 10. I liked my BEEE faculty Sonam Shrivastava Mam, she is so hardworking and really makes sure we learn Some faculty don't even try to explain, they just come and throw what they have to teach to us. Also, this is part and parcel of life we have to learn how to deal with such people, we don't always get people of our choice The exams system is as follows: For each subject there will be CAT1- 50 marks- (converted to 15) CAT2- 50 marks-(converted to 15 )OPEN BOOK FAT - 100 marks- (converted to 40) 2 quiz and 1 Digital Assignment each of 10 marks This is a very good examination system which ensures proper knowledge of student, for me there is no flaw in it Student can easily reach to faculty for any inconvenience in marking, if teacher is ignorant they can reach to HOD through mail and they are really responsive Academically no student is undervalued and is attented seriously. Cources are very relevant to curriculum and focus on diverse advancement and development of student in every field.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.
