Likes
- I love overall atmosphere of the college. The mesmerizing playground of the college is still in my heart.The college consists three buildings for teaching different branches of engineering.The buildings includes labs also
- The faculty teachers of each branch are one of the prime reasons of college being a superb college.The faculty teachers are well behaved and exceptionally knowledgeable.They teach the students important life lessons along with the engineering topics
- The availability of study materials for the students in our college is huge.Our college have a library which stores more than ten thousand of books for different branches of engineering and of different topics, written by renowned writers
Dislikes
- Sadly, There are several things that I dislike about our college. Concern related to drinkable water is one of them. The quality of drinkable that comes from storage is not upto the mark.Although two new water purifiers are installed in our college
- Secondly, Our college-buildings need a little bit of repairing because the buildings are reasonably old enough to cause damage. Some of the classrooms are really damp and wet.This issue needs to be fixed.
- The equipments and machineries installed in our laboratories are a bit old and that's why they don't operate properly. So I think that some of the machineries and equipments need to be replaced for betterment in learning of the students
Course Curriculum Overview
I was always fascinated about electrical energy, electricity and machines driven by it that's why I've chose this course. The curriculum prepares students very well and with care so that the students become industry-ready. I think that the volume of assignments and laboratory notes can be minimised. Mainly two exams per year(semesters) are conducted. However two class tests are conducted in between of it
Placement Experience
After passing 4th semester L&T, TATA, NIPPON STEEL, JSL, JSW, BRAVO etc Highest package provided is around 8-10 LPA and average package provided is around 4 LPA. Usually and L&T and JSL provides high packages Almost 70-80% of students I'm going to take admission in a BTECH college for persuing Bachelor in Engineering degree
Fees and Financial Aid
Around 1390rs is the year-wise fees. Total tuition fee is 1800rs, caution fee is around 100rs, admission fee is 890rs, registration fee is 250rs, and other fees is around 2000rs. Students get scholarships like SVMCM
Campus Life
Freshers', THE SOCIAL, Tech Fest etc. These functions are typically organized in different months of the year. The library stores over 10000+ books and journals of different branches of engineering Students are offered to play outdoor sports in the playground of our college. Some of the students have got to represent their talents in state level tournaments Different clubs for different motivations and intentions are created such as welfare for nature, helping of poors, etc
Admission
I didn't apply for other colleges because I was confident enough that I'll get here admission surely. Afterall Purulia Polytechnic is one of the best institutions in the field of diploma engineering in west bengal. No, I didn't Students get admission in the 1st year by securing certain ranks in JEXPO and for lateral entry in 2nd year is by VOCLET exam. Once the ranks and cutoffs are published the students are told to bring their documents and rank card for verification and thus admission is done
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:30. The faculty teachers of each branch are well behaved and highly educated.They always want the students to be prosperous in life.They are always ready to help the students. I am a fan of Mr. Animesh Chakraborty Sir (Electrical engineering).He is gem of a person.Be it a issue in field of engineering or anything he is always there to help. There's no such faculty member whom I don't like. Yearly two exams(semesters) are conducted by our board (AICTE) and two internal exams (class test) is taken by our faculty teachers. Almost 90% of the students pass easily the tests and those who don't study for a single moment tend to fail the exam.So difficulty level is very much subjective,I guess.
