Course Curriculum Overview

5

This is the best college for plastic and polymer Technology all around India . When it's come to curriculum we can gain practical knowledge and application in a excellent way. The exam will be conducted by Anna University and the question will be also prepared by them. The exams are quite easy only... Correction are liberal

Internships Opportunities

3

CIPET-IPT Chennai offers a range of internship opportunities that are integral to preparing students for careers in plastic and polymer technology. Given CIPET's reputation as a premier central government institution specializing in plastic engineering, students have access to valuable internships through established connections with leading companies in plastics, polymers, automotive, and manufacturing industries. These internships allow students to gain hands-on experience, apply their knowledge in real-world settings, and build professional networks before graduation.

Placement Experience

5

The best college for placement is I can proudly say is CIPET-IPT CHENNAI because I have 100% placement every year with good package. It starts around 35,000/- to 80,000/- per month . More number of students are joining CIPET because of good placement only and also premium Central Government College

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fee structure for the academic year 2024-25 at CIPET: Institute of Petrochemicals Technology (IPT) in Chennai varies by course and includes tuition, development, and miscellaneous fees. Here’s a breakdown of the fees for each course level: B.Tech and B.E Courses (Second to Fourth Year) 1. B.Tech in Plastics Technology: Second Year: ?59,475 Third Year: ?59,925 Fourth Year: ?61,975 2. B.E in Manufacturing Engineering: Second Year: ?59,825 Third Year: ?60,475 Fourth Year: ?62,075 Note: The fee increase across years appears minimal and is primarily due to additional charges such as the placement fee and certificate fee in later years. M.Tech and M.E Courses (Second Year) 1. M.Tech in Plastics Technology: ?62,625 2. M.E in CAD/CAM: ?63,075 M.Sc in Applied Polymer Science (Second Year) Total fees: ?40,700 Fee Revisions: Any adjustments in tuition or examination fees mandated by Anna University must be paid in addition to the stated fees.

Campus Life

4

Campus life at CIPET-IPT Chennai offers a blend of rigorous academics, a supportive placement structure, and the practical facilities needed for students to excel in the field of plastic and polymer technology. Students are drawn to CIPET-IPT for its stellar placement record, with packages ranging from INR 35,000 to INR 80,000 per month. As a central government institution, CIPET-IPT stands as a reputed hub for hands-on learning in plastic technology, offering students robust lab facilities that distinguish it from other institutions, like the Madras Institute of Technology. While classroom teaching can sometimes fall short of expectations—with faculty attendance being inconsistent and some teachers lacking in engagement—the practical lab sessions make up for it. In these sessions, dedicated faculty members, like Bala Sir, ensure that students grasp the subject fully, only moving on when students feel comfortable with the topic. This focus on practical learning is critical in the field of polymer and plastic technology, where theoretical knowledge needs to be complemented with hands-on skills. The exams, conducted by Anna University, are generally fair and manageable, with a grading approach that many find reasonable. Beyond academics, the campus infrastructure supports students in various ways. The campus boasts well-equipped labs and mechanical facilities, helping students acquire the practical skills necessary for their industry. Additionally, students benefit from a placement cell that consistently connects graduates to lucrative job opportunities, thus enhancing the appeal of CIPET-IPT across India. While the campus could improve its offerings in terms of faculty support and classroom teaching quality, students have access to resources that facilitate independent study and practical application of concepts. Social life on campus is somewhat laid-back; although there is not a bustling club culture, students form close bonds through shared classes and lab work.

Admission

I got CIPET IPT CHENNAI in Tamilnadu engineering counselling . I also applied for Madras institute of Technology in rubber and plastic Technology but I only choose CIPET because this a premium institute and the best institute in the field of plastic Technology and also compared to MIT.. CIPET has more lab and mechanical facilities to study in a more practical way and also a Central Government College

Basically teacher did not come to our college .. They arrive only they willing.. Teaching is quite bad but in Lab session they teach us well.. there will be one teacher for each subject and also they give they did not notes for there subject...They give internal only based on student activities during the class and they show partiality ... Are most below teacher is Bala sir is teaching is superb and the main thing is he will only complete when the student is understand about the topic..

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.
