Most awesome experience of my life yet.

Overall the college is great and i am fully satisfied with my experience yet. Its management is also very student friendly and students have their say in many major decisions regarding college activities and management.

JEE Mains- Score: 271/360 JEE Advance- 238/360 JEE Advance AIR- 531 I chose IIT Kanpur for two reasons 1) My hometown is in Kanpur itself so it will be close to my home 2) I was getting my stream of interest i.e. Electrical Engineering.

Course curriculum is really vast and flexible here, In the first year you will get to learn a little about all the departments that are here along with subjects like mathematics, physics, electrodynamics etc that are necessary tools for your engineering courses in further years. In second year, You will learn some departmental basics along with some mathematics courses. Third year on wards you will learn core departmental stuff along with the elective courses of your choice.

IIT Kanpur have a very good record in placements as well as job opportunities. Many companies visit our campus to offer internships as well as job offers to the students. Most of the students get internships till the end of their fifth semester. Almost everyone who have applied from my department have already got an internship offer. The stipend provided by the companies is also very good ranging from 20k per month to 50k or more.

I have yet to sit in placements so i do not have much knowledge about that but in my knowledge placement record is as good as internship record. Almost everybody get an offer. Packages offered range from 6lac to 25lac or more in electrical department.

IIT Kanpur hold Asia's one of the biggest technical as well as cultural festival every year with budget ranging from 2-5 crore. Its cultural fest Antaragni as well as its technical fest Techkriti is well renowned across the country. Participation from around 200 colleges is observed every year. Its sports festival Udghosh is also quiet popular and hosts around 50-100 events every year.

Fee have become a little expensive lately, around 56k per semester, including hostel charge but excluding mess fee. Mess fee comes to be around 2k a month. But the college offer good scholarship program to help students with their fee so fee is rarely a problem here.

Yes, college provides many good scholarship programs for different students. Some of them are based on need while some are based on merit. Some are based on both. In my knowledge more than 50% of the students are able to receive some or the other kind of financial aid from the college.

Campus life is really awesome. We are given total freedom to do whatever we want. The campus is great, it have all the facilities one could desire about. Their are many intra-college events where one can showcase their talent in any field. Their are numerous clubs and societies for developing student's overall personality. Overall I can say that the campus life is really the most awesome thing about the college.

Hostel facility is decent. Although in the fresher year we have to share room with three people in a room designed for two but it is manageable. Mess food is, as in every college, not up to the mark, it may be decent for some days while really inedible fo

The college have a great alumni network. It have well renowned alumnis that are at the top of their respective fields. College have an alumni contact program (ACP) society that keep the alumni network connected.

Academics is little tough here. Here, in some courses you will be having regular exams per week along with one midsem and an endsem exam to keep track of your preparation. All the exams generally occur in a week's span so you won't have time to prepare mu
