Course Curriculum Overview

4

The studio of DME is the centre of attraction, for a couse like journalism a practical experience is very important, and the studio gives that vibe and experience. So rhe studio, amphitheatre, seminar hall and library made me choose the college. Also the factors like nearby metro station and distance between college and metro matters, which is good for a daily basis travelling purpose. As I said about the practical experience is very good here, aslo DME takes students to may media channels and organisations to get the exposure and makes us perfect to face the real time world. Area of improvement is just for canteen and AC related classroom issues in summer.

Internships Opportunities

4

For media Students they offer very good Summer internship opportunities in good media channels. It is on the students majorly where they want to do their internship in the given period of 45 days, or interested students can have the opportunity to get their intership by contacts of college/ faculty. They send students to media houses/ channels for roles like graphic designing, video editing, content writing, photography, anchoring, advertisement, public relations etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

During the ip councilling period I paid 40k directly to Ggsipu after that I got my college selected where I paid rest 80k which was a sum of total 1,20,000rs In Second year I paid approx 1 lakh And in third year I've paid 1 lakh Total amount is 3,20,000 and rest 30k is for extra activities, travelling expenses etc.

Campus Life

5

Overall experience is very good, Summer sucks but winters in DME feels like heaven bcoz of the Direct sunlight in the campus and amphitheatre, students mostly sit there on the stairs and feels good. There are my events that take place in DME like vritika which is a media fest, diwali fest, aloha for all the courses, anugoonj biggest fest of ggsipu, freshers, farewell and many more from different departments. There are more than 11 societies like fir bhangra, dance, art, theatre, singing, mental health, radio, law etc

Admission

In ggsipu I first got jims Vasant Kunj college which is actually far away from my place and the distance between metro and college was alot, I found it so hectic to travel daily and also realised it is only possible if I've my own vehicle. Then I got Trinity institute of professional studies but that was something I didn't liked at all by infrastructure because it is too small just like a building but the quality of education is also very good there and distance between metro and college is just walking distance.. Then at last I came across DME and choosed it as I found it good at various aspects. The admission process here is very easy, there are people who'll guide you at each and every step.

Faculty

5

Faculty to student ratio is good, one class is consist of not more than 60 students. Teachers uses projectors and ppts to make class intresting. Faculty are approcahble easily. Best faculty members were our dean sir, Mr. Ambrish saxena and promod Pandey sir. Liked them the most because they both are full of knowledge and have a very good aura. Exams are divided into two parts, internals and externals further divided into theory and practicals. All the internal exams held in the campus only and for externals we have to go to the given centre. The course curriculum is very relevant and updated timely.

Interview Experience

4

Yes to take admission, you've to give an examination called cuet and after passing the examination you'll get a rank through which the colleges of ip University are categories and allotted to the students. There are 5-6 rounds of the allotment and it's a very lengthy process which takes one month .

Night Life

5

Nightlife in DME is seriously beautiful as the ambience looks beautiful in night specially during events. There's a open gym in the campus which stays open whole day people use and right there is the way to cafeteria where students love to chill and eat with the refreshing food. It also stays open till 9 pm. Library is very huge and categorised into 3 sections of law, bba and bjmc. Library have a time limit approx 4-5 it gets closed.

Placement Experience:

80% students are placed through DME with a package of 5 LPA to 7 LPA on an average which is quite decent for a fresher entering the industry. The top recruiting are for placements are Bharat Express, PR Guru, Amar Ujala, Dynamite News, T.H.E.M.E.S. Over 90% of the students were placed for internship in Amar Ujala, PR Guru, Aaj Tak, ABP News and Doordarshan. Top roles offered are journalist, content writer, anchor, film maker, and back end roles like video editor, graphic designer and many more. I personally plan to go into video editing after getting the degree.

Placement for Bajmc at dme are limited compared to some other professional courses. Students usually become eligible for placement opportunities or internships in the final year. There are not many direct placement with major media houses although students sometimes get industry exposure through sessions or visits .

My main aim is to become an automobile journalist that is the aspect that influenced me to choose this course. Till the date i dont feel that improvements are needed in curriculam and teaching methods. As faculty is really good in teaching and timely providing notes as it really helps students to learn effectively for theory exams and concentrate on practical skills that are needed to secure good position in reputed firms in future

Placements of our colleges and mediocre. From 6th semester students become elegible for campus placement. The highest package offered was 6LPA and the average package is 3-4 LPA. Placement depends upon the students applying for placement through college. Many students gets internships or jobs by themselves before even reaching placement cell.

Students become eligible for placement during their final year of college. DME offers several different companies that it has tie ins with for placements to students such as Gadgets 360, Aaj Tak, Myntra, PTI and D&P. 70-80% students get a good placement package. My personal plan following graduation is to pursue my higher education in correspondence with employment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself was nothing out of the ordinary material, it teaches you the basics of the field but the faculties were pretty good and helped us understand not just the basic but a little more so that we could actually be able to work in the environment once we get there. Also they organise workshops which was mandatory for all the students without any extra charge to learn from professional what to do and how to do it best. We also used to get projects which actually helped alot in learning with practice the theory.
