Actually, I had to study two types of curriculum in my course of four years. When I started in the 1st year, it was a conventional curriculum with the normal teaching process. Stepping into the 2nd year, there was a change in the course curriculum. We had to switch to the MILA classes where the learning was fully on smart boards, saying goodbye to pen and paper method. This new curriculum did have its share of advantages and disadvantages. Although its an exciting way of learning, some students felt it difficult to switch to the new method all of a sudden and they had their problems to overcome it.

Saveetha engineering college's placement cell has enormous links with many leading companies in the industry, that they bring 2 companies for campus hiring regularly in a week. This makes it easy for the students to choose a career of their choice. And our college does not offer any internships.

Saveetha engineering college is known for massive events and celebrations. The Pongal celebrations which occur in the month of January every year attracts big crowds from the public and also many other colleges. During this event, students bring their friends from other colleges which makes this a grand event. And another special event is DRESTEIN. It is a technical cum fun event, where technical papers are presented and also other events are conducted. Whenever an event is conducted, the whole campus would be lit up with full of enthusiasm and fun.

The fee structure is basically determined with the mode of admission into the college. If the student is admitted through the counseling process then the fees are 80,000+(transport fees or hostel fees), the transport fees start from 45,000 for A/C buses and 35000 for normal buses. The hostel fees depend on the type of room chosen, single cot room with A/C accounts to about 1,00,000(including food) and for two in one or three in one room the hostel fees will be 70,000(including food). And if the student is admitted in management quota, the fees is 1,80,000+(transport or hostel fees).

I could not avail any of the scholarships as I join the institution through the management quota. The scholarship is available only for those students who are admitted through the counseling process.

The alumni association is organized properly by the college management and all the students studied in saveetha engineering college form a great network to stay in contact with each other. This also helps the junior students to reach out to their seniors regarding their doubts. The students are well informed about the alumni association right from their first year of college and they are insisted to coordinate well after they pass out of the college.

Firstly saveetha was not my choice as I had chosen a different college in the counseling process. Then I came to know about saveetha engineering college through my friends and decided to join the same. Saveetha engineering college had a good looking campus and an awesome environment to study.

Our college faculties were the most friendly that any other college could have. Many of the faculties were extremely knowledgeable, while some were beginners in lecturing. One of the faculties used to say that they learn more from the students than they had learned from their academic years. And there are other staffs who expect good technical knowledge in students when it comes to paper presentation, projects, etc. On the whole saveetha engineering college faculties are moderately good.
