Course Curriculum Overview

4

Academically wise, the circularam, the disciplines , various schools of subjects and due to following of NEP, the learnings in Gitam became so useful. The syllabus is designed in such a way to fit for students and can be easily understandable and reliable. Also, it keeps on revising throughout particular span of time to be updated and advance in terms of learning. The opportunity of field works, industrial visit and advance digital classrooms helps in better interaction between student and faculty in ease with giving the absolute academic experience. The exam happens once in month which is under internal assessment. The curriculum helps to grow in various means by making students to work on their thinking based answer, critical emperical analysis and high orde rethinking skills. The course shall be more inclusive of by personal interaction with student and faculty in some subjects.

Placement Experience

3

From beginning of the semesters students are being trained for the placements through soft skills training, resume building sessions and mock interviews. Majorly form third semester, students are meant to primarily focused upon placements. Amazon, Flipkart, Wipro, Infotech, Infosys, and more than 300 gratified companies comes each year in intervals for recruitment. Various packages will be offered to students starting from 10 lakh per annum to 50 lakhs per annum. Nearly 50-60% students get placements there. And i m opting for higher education hence I would not be focused on placements much.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am paying 50000 thousand as tuition fee for subject which I opted which is Bachelor's degree of arts in political science domain. In addition, as I choose to stay in hostel, the annual hostel charges is around 1 lakh 25 thousands. For the entrance test it costed 1000 as registration fee. I sat for Gate- exam which is common test for entering into the college, there one can find scholarships given for attaining more marks. The total marks will be 170 from which student getting more than 120 will be benefitted with scholarships. Apart from this there is also K-cat which is Karnataka common eligibility test students qualitying that exam can get more than 59 percentage of scholarship. My batchmates got 20% of scholarships as per their performance in Gate exam.

Campus Life

4

The Campus is cozy, with the weather, areas to chill sit and talk, incapsulates various festival celebration, amazing inter and intra college events, functions and collaboration. It has huge crowd which will be ready to celebrate, enjoy in every way possible.Explicit options for personal growth and development throw various clubs, for instance G-stuido, kalakriti, e-club and what not. Witnessing the journey for being compatible to uphold in gratified position in an well established company through placement training centres are remarkable. To attain the zenith of learning, progressing and growing gitam is recommended. The infrastructure of gitam is appreciable. It has spaced where cafe, canteen areas, playgrounds, temple, huge building, dance rooms with proper ventilation system. one can easily the green scenary of the surroundings as well.

Hostel Facilities

4

The infrastructure of gitam is appreciable. It has spaced where cafe, canteen areas, playgrounds, temple, huge building, dance rooms with proper ventilation system. one can easily the green scenary of the surroundings as well. However, the hospitality team could be more empathetic to understand students' needs. Wardens and hostel managers could sometimes cause more challenges than help. Kindness and generosity towards students should be valued, and the unfair treatment in the girls' hostel raises questions.thr food is average in quality.

Admission

I applied for Christ University, St. Joseph college and Mouth- Carmel University, but unfortunately I did not appear for mount Carmel college and I got selected in St Joseph and christ University in pune campus. Those colleges where having major in history which i was keen to. I did not get selected in Christ University banglore campus they offered to for Pune campus which was not possible by my side, as I was looking college in Karnataka itself. Gitam offers entrance test which is Gate where the total marks in 170 ine hcih students getting more than 120 will get scholarship also, thers is K-sat where students qualitying the exam will get more than 50% of scholarship. The gitam campus is cozy, greenary is there it's nice to stay and roam around in evening times.

Faculty

5

Various international conferences in fields of humanities and social sciences, management and technology held couple of times with collaboration of big scholars from abroad. Gitam also upholds advanced and insightful faculties, mentors, mental health support team at the back end to help students for growing without any much difficulty. It is best suited to get the personalised experience despite of being in a crowd of students. The type of structure it follows for instances, the two sided interactions, debate, discussion, doubt clearing sessions, feedback systems inhance the quality of education there. Professors like Dr. Aritra saha and Dr. Niyas, Dr. Tejal Khanna and Dr. Rashmi are outstanding faculties one can have. They are so friendly, knowledgeable and kind in nature. There is system internal and external assessment where mid exam for 30 marks, internals including mid exam is 70 and external assessment is only for 30 which helps in reducing the burden and foster to grow. Exam will be hard and easy both. Nearly one or two students fails in my class and goes for supplementary cources. The course structure followes NEP which is multidimensional is nature with broad scope for learning from multiple disciplines.

Night Life

4

The hostel faculties can be improved. The hostel facitlities, warden, can be more polite and friendly. But while talking about libraries, there are ample amount of books in abundance and 2 big libraries are there for different branches of humanities, management, technology, and sciences. There are gym for boys and girls, tv rooms, playgrounds, for football, basketball, volleyball and other games. The hostel closed at 9 pm and opening will be in 6 am. The campus cafe is best place inside campus to sit and chill also, outsides city centres like malls, Nandi hills, cafe , restaurant are in handful numbers

And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
