Course Curriculum Overview

3

My course is Computer science engineering. As this course is flexible for me to get into any feild as I go further. The curriculum doesn't well prepare you for real world as we have outdated syllabus in most of the important core subjects which is not been updated by Osmania University. We also have subjects which are not related to our course and there effect is huge on our CGPA. I wish the syllabus is updated according to present technology and remove subjects which doesn't help us in our field like Signals and systems. This is electrical subject which is not helpfull at alla for a computer science student but have credits and compulsary to clear this subject. Exams are held in Feburary/March and later in Auguest/September. mids are condudted according to scheduled . The exams are not too difficult but the corrections are not done in proper manner.

Placement Experience

4

From 4.1 students are allowed to sit for placements. We get companies from GRIET as it is well known college. As our batch is first very few companies came for campus placments. Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Insight Software. They are still in progress also two students got placed in Infosys for 9LPA. Packages offered are similar with other colleges. As placement just started there is no accurated percentage for students getting placed. I plan to do job after graduation. I am expecting to get placed through campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

In first year i paid 40,000 and it is same every year. As my batch is first we had less fee compared to my juniors. For reservation the government reimbursement is provedied if the student got seat via EMCET else not provided.

Campus Life

1

My experience is average. My college doesn't have big campus as we are not allowed to go to GRIET often. We have only two blocks and second block was in construction during my 1st year, basically we had similar life as we had in inter. There were not much activities including social aspects. Clubs were started when we came to 3rd year. Infrastructure is not at all upto students expectations. Technical festivals are very few . Seekh is a program condudted to only 2nd year students to showcase there talent. HACKHATONS are not held by college but in recent times they are bringing oppurtunites from outside. Books are not much available. We do have library but doen't have good amount of various books. Journals are provided in all fields.class rooms are neeat and clean . We have board and also projector for presentation. As new college we have all new rooms , benches . NO SPORTS. We don't have much place to play. Also we are not encouraged nor have any specific time given to play . We need to take permission to play in GRIET ground also we play in name of GRIET not GLEC. Students themselves took intiative and did lot of activities by themselves as the faculty is not giving any.

Admission

This college is near to my House also is effortable. I have applied to other colleges but the fee is way higher than this and transport charges are more. Th main reason was Fee in other colleges . For CSE it is hard for a middle class student to pay fee. Admission propses is easy. We can get via EMCET or directly approach college.

Faculty

2

As being first batch we had faculty for every subject . Mentors are given for every 30 students on mentor. Most of faculties are friendly. present we have faculty for all years and subjects and it maybe around 1:20 ratio. My favouriate faculity actually left college so waste of giving the name. She was very good in teaching also she helped out in all feilds we needed. Her name is Anitha. Also the faculty i don't like also left last year only. She always points to sepecific students also judge the students. This made feel students underconfident. Coming to exams we have 2 tutorials for 1 mid. 2mids for 1 sem. In college we can write exams well . But the semister exams are bit tricky. We are affliated to Osmania University and the corrections are not done very well. Most of students tend to fail when we get our results later for reapplying for revaluation we get to clear the exam. Before revaluation results are given we have to pay for exam which is almost around 1500 per 4 papers. For main exam its is 2000. So there is lot of money being paid to OU just for our exams.

Night Life

1

There is no night life in our college as college hostel is outside our campus we comeout by 6 if any sports are being played. Else no one are allowed inside after the college hours. Hostel is provided by GRIET and it is not sufficient for many. Bus is provided for College hostel students everyday also during the exams as we have to write in centers. But the outside of college and surroundings are mostly trees so its cool and dark during night. Road infront of our college has a vibe where most of the surrounding people or students come and have some time spent.
