Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very tight to be honest but it has its pros as well . The current phase is completely based on competency based medical questions CBMI. Its more compact and concept based . The course is about 5.5 years . Final year being the longest one after which internship is done for 1 year in the college hospital itself
Internships Opportunities
Internship is only for one year in the medical hospital and it's under 9 or 10 department. Each department duration can vary frm a week to month . Posting in near by thaluk hospital is also there . U get a stipend of 15000 per month
Fees and Financial Aid
First year fees a 850000 as they will provide the books . From second year on wards it 800000. It includes all the special fees and hostel which is about 4000 per month. The mess fee is separate and is 6000 per month . For NRI qouta student have tot pay for about 24 laks per year which is approx about 1.5 crore full course . Scholarship are available fore OBC reservation . An amount of 30000 is usually credited to the children's account . During internship a stipend of 15000 is given as well for one year per month .
Campus Life
My past 2 years has been filled with all kinds of emotions. It is a very hard course but it's fun at times . The experience u get here is different. I would say that here the campus life is not very bad except the college is situated more inside and not in the city
Hostel Facilities
Each room consists of 3 people . They get a bed and shelf and table for each . Ur allowed to stick posters and decorate ur room . Use kettle iron box and other electrical appliances are allowed as well . Hostel is fun . There are 4 floors each floors are for each batch . The toilet is not individual. There 5 toilets and washroom and each corner of the floors
Admission
Basically I was allotted to this college through KEAM . It is an exam conducting association of kerala . I was allotted here according to my preference order of college . Karuna medical college was my 4th preference . My mark was not up to the cut off range for the other 3 college I was allotted here
Faculty
They are very helpful and understanding . They help us mentally and emotionally. Also very supportive in culture And sports activities. Very motivating for pursuing our passion along with studies . The department HODs are also very experienced ones
Night Life
For boys the curfew is 10 pm and for girls it's 9pm . Night life in the campus is quiet silent and peace full . Since Palakad is not very developed city for me I guess late night travelling and visiting is not very appropriated here
