Course Curriculum Overview

5

Aspects of the Curriculum That Influenced My Decision: I chose this course because it covers topics that interest me and are relevant to my career goals. The curriculum includes both theory and practical skills that I can apply in real-world situations. How Well the Curriculum Prepares for Real-World or Further Studies: The curriculum is designed to give us both deep knowledge and practical experience. It prepares us well for jobs in the field, as well as for advanced studies if we decide to pursue them later. Areas for Improvement in the Course and Teaching Methods: While the curriculum is generally strong, I think it could benefit from more hands-on learning or industry internships. Additionally, some teaching methods could be updated to include more interactive or online resources. Frequency and Timing of Exams, and Their Difficulty: Exams are spaced out well, but sometimes the timing is stressful. The difficulty level is fair, though some exams could include more application-based questions instead of just theoretical ones.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship Opportunities and Companies Offering Stipends: At our college, several well-known companies offer internships with stipends, providing students with valuable industry experience. These internships are often tied to the summer break or during certain academic breaks, allowing students to apply their skills in real-world scenarios. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Role: Software Development Intern Stipend: ?15,000–?20,000 per month Tasks/Projects: Working on software development projects, collaborating with teams to build web applications or improve system functionalities, and writing code in programming languages like Java or Python. 2. Accenture Role: Business Consulting Intern Stipend: ?18,000–?22,000 per month Tasks/Projects: Researching market trends, helping design business strategies for clients, preparing reports, and presenting findings to senior consultants. 4. Infosys Role: Technology Intern Stipend: ?12,000–?15,000 per month Tasks/Projects: Assisting in the development of IT solutions for clients, testing software applications, and creating technical documentation for ongoing projects. 5. Zomato Role: Marketing Intern Stipend: ?10,000–?12,000 per month Tasks/Projects: Working on digital marketing campaigns, social media promotions, content creation for marketing materials, and market research to understand customer needs. 6. Deloitte Role: Finance and Risk Management

Campus Life

Annual and Technical Festivals: Our college hosts a couple of major festivals each year. The annual festival is called [Name of Annual Festival], and it typically takes place in [Month]. It includes cultural events, performances, competitions, and more. The technical festival is called [Name of Technical Festival], usually held in [Month], and it focuses on workshops, coding challenges, hackathons, and tech talks. These events are a big part of student life and provide great networking opportunities. Library Books and Journals: The college library is well-stocked with a wide range of books, journals, and digital resources. It offers books across various subjects like engineering, management, science, and humanities. There’s also access to online databases, research papers, and e-journals, making it easy for students to find study material and resources for projects.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel Room Facilities: The hostel rooms at our college are designed to provide a comfortable and practical living space for students. Typically, each room is equipped with basic amenities such as a bed, study table, chair, wardrobe, and fan. Some rooms also have air conditioning, though it depends on the type of room and the hostel building. Wi-Fi is available in all hostels, making it easier to access study materials or stay connected with friends and family. Most rooms are shared, with 2–3 students per room, but there are some single-occupancy rooms available for those who prefer privacy (though these tend to be more expensive). Common bathrooms are usually shared by students in each block, and they are cleaned regularly. Hostel rooms are furnished with basic lighting and electrical outlets for charging devices. In addition to the standard furniture, many hostels also offer a laundry facility, though you may have to pay extra for this service. If you prefer to do your laundry yourself, some hostels provide washing machines for student use. Some hostels also offer recreational spaces like lounges or TV rooms where students can relax after a long day. Overall, the room facilities are adequate, though they are often quite basic, designed to prioritize functionality over luxury. Meal Quality & Menu: The food quality in the hostel can vary, but in general, it is decent and caters to the tastes of a diverse student population. The meals are prepared in the college kitchen, and the menu is designed to be nutritious and filling, with an emphasis on Indian cuisine. There is a rotation of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options throughout the week. Common meals include rice, roti, daal (lentils), sabzi (vegetable curry), and curd, along with occasional dishes like pasta, pulao, poori, and chole bhature. Desserts like kheer or halwa are often served on special days. For breakfast, you may find options like poha, upma, idli, paratha, or bread and eggs.

Admission

Colleges I Applied To and Why I Chose This One: I applied to a few other colleges, but I chose this one because of its strong reputation in my field of interest, the quality of faculty, and the curriculum that fits my career goals. I also liked that the college has good industry connections and offers opportunities for internships and hands-on experience. Rejections from Other Colleges: Yes, I did get some rejections from other colleges. I think it was mainly because of higher competition or not meeting certain specific requirements. In some cases, my exam scores were slightly below their cutoff, or the courses I applied to had limited seats. Admission Process of This College: The admission process here is straightforward. You need to meet the eligibility criteria, which usually includes having a certain percentage in your previous education (like high school or undergrad). For my course, the exams accepted include [mention exams, e.g., JEE, CAT, GRE, etc.]. The most preferred exam by students here is [name the exam], and the cutoff for that exam is typically around [mention the cutoff score or range]. The overall admission experience was smooth. After applying, there was a screening based on exam scores and eligibility, followed by an interview or group discussion round in some cases. Once selected, the final steps included document verification and fee payment.

Faculty

The faculty-to-student ratio refers to the number of students for each teacher or professor. A low ratio means there are fewer students per teacher, which usually leads to more personal attention and better opportunities for one-on-one interaction. When the ratio is good, professors are more likely to be approachable because they have fewer students to manage. This makes it easier for students to ask questions, get help, and build a relationship with their professors. In general, when the ratio is low, professors are more accessible and can provide more support to individual students.

There may also be extended hours during exam periods for students who need extra study time. Public Areas: Common areas, lounges, and courtyards are generally open throughout the day and evening but may close around [mention closing time, e.g., 10 PM] for safety reasons.
