From fresher's day to Final year: A glimpse into SRM VEC

The reason for to choose this course in engineering is there are huge opportunities available for this particular course providing the foundation to any other courses related to technology. On the whole the Anna University syllabus could be updated to keep us on track with the current technologies and researches.

The placements begin at the starting of your 5th semester, but only a few companies visit during your 3rd year. The actual placement starts at the very beginning of your 7th semester. First-tier and Second-tier companies like Kaar technologies, Multicore, Hexaware, Triyam, Propel, Cognizant, Zoho, TCS, Wipro, etc.., The highest package being 22 Lpa, lowest being 2.5 Lpa and the average package being 4-8 Lpa. About 75-90% of students are getting places, whereas the remaining are students who continues with higher studies in abroad.

At SRM Valliammai Engineering College, the fee structure for the B.E. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) course is as follows: Fee structure: 1. Management Quota Fee: Rs.1,65,000 per year. 2. General Admission Fee(via Counselling): Rs.80,000 per year. 3. Additional Fees: Breakage Fee: Rs.250 per semester. Exam Fee: Charged per paper( amount varies based on the number of papers and other factors). Sports is highly given importance, our college conducts zonal level sports to our students letting the students not only in academic excellence but also encouraging in sportsmanship. Wide range of events take place inside the campus teaching students the various cultural ethics and customs. Celebrations like Pongal, Christmas, diwali, Onam and Holi are conducted and coordinated by students teaching them the moral values and leadership qualities. National level Symposium is been conducted by students every year in every department with the financial aid from management and guidance from the department faculties. We have a lot of clubs like NCC, NSS, Rotaract, YRC,etc.., where they often take you to camping in helping the public by providing them the necessities. In our department we run a club called "Coderizz" where we conduct events related to coding and other tech related games to encourage students by providing gifts to the winners and certificates to every participants.

I got into Panimalar Engineering College via Counselling process, but decided not to go as the college was very strict and Underexposed. The travelling journey of other colleges was also a bit complicated as we must avail the college bus services as they are located in secluded places, where there are no other means of public transportation available. While SRM Valliammai Engineering College could easily be reached using the public train and bus transportation available in every 20 mins interval.

The faculty in the CSE department at SRM Valliammai Engineering College are friendly, approachable, and dedicated to helping students perform well in exams, resulting in a low number of arrears. They provide valuable guidance and support for exam preparation and actively assist students in publishing papers in international journals, fostering a strong research culture. The course structure offers a solid foundation in both theory and practical applications, with mix of core subjects, electives, and lab sessions. The exam system includes internal assessments, assignments and end-of-semester exams, with a balanced marking scheme that helps students excel academically.

Inside the campus the SRM library could be accessed till 8PM at night and there are a lot of cafeterias around the library that are open till late nights. So many PG's are there around the campus, There are so many places to hang out around the college safely at late nights. There are also a lot of gym around the college and inside the hostels.
