What Students Say
Likes
- The faculty is really friendly, the kids are very down to earth and not showy.
- The grading is very easy hence it's easy to get high CPI and the college has good infrastructure
- The college has good ventilation and really good labs
Dislikes
- I think they could install AC in classes as it gets pretty warm in the summers.
- I disliked the management here, they are slow and lazy in their work and also don't want to work
- The exams are taken without any gaps and it becomes really really hectic to give the exams
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is not very tough and also not very irrelevant, infact it is pretty easy. The first year is syllabus is tough and useless but second year becomes easy. The exams are taken on very short gap which is definitely very very hectic.
Internships Opportunities
As this is an NIT, there are many intership opportunity and stipend varis from 10,000-35,000 per month. Companies like Adobe, AMD, Intel, Microsoft provide intership opportunities in this college and over 20% students get properly paid internships.
Placement Experience
The campus placements are decent, average package is somewhere around 10-11 LPA and lowest around 4 LPA where are the highest is around 65 LPA. around 70% of students get placed through campus placement. As this is an NIT, there are many intership opportunity and stipend varis from 10,000-35,000 per month. Companies like Adobe, AMD, Intel, Microsoft provide intership opportunities in this college and over 20% students get properly paid internships
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee is 70,000 per semester which makes it 1,40,000 per year. The hostel fee is 45,000 per year and the mess fee is 35,000 per year. Hostel is granted on the basis of percentile in the first year and on the the basis of CGPA in second year. There are various scholarships available and the college does promote it a lot, so you will most probably get all your money back. If you have an income below 1 lac, you have zero Tution fee, and if your family income is 1-5 lac, you will have to pay only 1/3 of the fee, 2/3rd will be refunded back. For SC/ST and PwD, there is no fee. There is scholarship based on merit, caste, and income which are pretty easily accessible so it's very easy to apply for one.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is pretty old, and outdated, no ACs, but the ventilation is good in classes and building and temperatures don't go very high in Chattisgarh so it's bareable. The faculty is friendly but not good at teaching, campus life is dull apart from fests.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are good but very limited, the mess food is pretty good and everything is affordable, the hostel fee is 45,000 and mess fee is 35,000. Hostels are alloted on the basis of percentile and distance in first year and in second year they are alloted on the basis of CPI or SPI.
Admission
I think the simplicity of the location, and the fact it being an NIT with decent placement made me choose this college. NIT Raipur has to be a hidden gem. It is the college most recommended for people who just want to study and don't want a very partying life
Faculty
The faculty here is very friendly. The course and curriculum is not very tough, infact it is easy. Yes first year is a little difficult but from second year the courses get easy, and unlike other NITs it's very easy to get a higher CGPA in NIT Raipur. The courses are pretty old yet not very irrelevant. The teachers are pretty useless as other colleges, you just need to study from YouTube but they are also very chill so yeah it's overall good. The exams are pretty timely and are actually conducted earlier than others, and the difficulty level is easy, they repeat the questions from PYQs.
Night Life
There is no night life, the hostels close at sharp 9 PM and college closes at 10 PM. So do not expect any night life around the campus. If you want a night life then take a hostel outside the campus grounds
Other Applied Colleges
Delhi University - [DU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
NIT Raipur has better placements and really good intership opportunities
