Remarks

The college has been rated 8th by NIRF which in itself says much. There are negative remarks except by some that its not co-ed and is boys only. It is a very famed college in entire west bengal and its an honour to be a student of this institution

Course Curriculum Overview

The Course curriculum is Semester based. The B.Sc course has 6 semesters , 2 in each year. Every semester has 2 exams, mid semester and end semester exams. The final marks are a total of mid sem marks(10),theory attendance(5) , practical attendance(5), practical exams(30), end semester(50).

Placement Experience

Medium to Big companies do give job opportunities to the college students. Every year about 10% students clear JAM and join IIT for M.Sc which is a really good score. Internship exists but is very limited for top students.

College Events

Every year, there is a freshers welcome function which is not at all like other colleges . Instead of partying and hanging out with friends , some learned man comes for a speech and there is a cultural program. In addition there are programs like Vivekanand's birthday and republic day that are celebrated. However , i will not recommend attending these as they are really boring unless you like cultural programs

Fee Structure And Facilities

1st sem:12500+1000(exam fee) 2nd,4th,6th sem : 1500 + 1000(exam fee) 3rd,5th sem : 10000+1000(exam fee). Since the college is autonomous, the fee is a bit higher than government colleges . However it is much less than private colleges and is highly affordable

Fees and Financial Aid

There are no loan facilities in the college but there are many scholarships, especially for students from government board(state board). Scholarships range from fees waiver to free books as well as meritorious students are even paid by the college

Campus Life

There is a annual sports meet in the college. There is no sports ground in the campus but there are 3 belonging to Ramakrishna mission in the locality which we are free to go to. Cricket or football kit can be taken from college by submitting the ID card. Lab is extremely well cared and all instruments are of top notch quality.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are really helpful to our cause. They help us understand the exam pattern. They also help us out if there is some issue. The alumni network is also good. There is no ragging and the environment is very peaceful

Faculty

The Physics and chemistry department are one of the best. Maths and computer science are not very good. The college got an all india NIRF ranking of 8th and 1st in entire west bengal. The teachers are really helpful and knowledgeable , atleast in my department.

The curriculum provides a balanced approach of both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, theoretical knowledge from classes, assignments, homeworks and exams. Practical knowledge through the different workshops that are held in the college auditorium or online with successful men of the field who are brought as guests in them, from renowned scientists to great thinkers we have met a lot of them.

Placement Experience:

After completing the 5th Semester the student are eligible for placement but the student should have 7.5 CGPA and a good attendence for the palcement after this oncampus placement like TCS, wipro, accenture etc come for placement with a native package of around 6-8 LPA. Which is goood . Nearly as per report around 80% of studentt gets placed every year . After i complete this course i have decide to go master degree in data science which will be benificial for me for international company.

Pros and cons

Placement Experience:

Placement or internship depends on the course Duration . Overall placement is good . The highest package is 1cr/ yr. And the average package 2to3 lakh/ yr. After getting the bsc. degree in Forensic science, I want to prepare for compitive exam or prepare for higher studies.

How an average student sees his College

Remarks:

Pros:The teachers very very helpful and friendly. Loans and scholarships available. Faculties are highly qualified. Infrastructure is awesome. Cons: no placement. No stipends There wasn’t any hostel facility. Canteen could be developed.

This is a Boys college so only male students are given addmission and one is eligible to apply for MSc Mathematics and Computing if he obtains a mean percentage of 50% up to the first 5 semesters of one's BSc in mathematics with almost 30 seats on offer and reservation of seats for the OBC, SC and ST as per as the government norms.
