St. Xaviers College is one of the best in the country. You can know from this if it is good or bad. However, the bad part is all classrooms not have air conditioning facilities and they should renovate the classrooms

The Undergraduate degree program is of three/four-year duration divided into six semesters/eight semesters. The Academic year is divided into two Semesters: July - December, and January - June. Pass marks for each paper - 40% (Theory, Practical, Project/ Seminar). Aggregate - 40%

The Placement Cell of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata creates a platform where students can showcase their talents which different companies seek to explore and utilize. Starting from 2003, SXC has successfully placed a large section of graduates who have appeared for placements. This year especially, the performance has been overwhelming. Initially, the companies are invited to take part in the recruitment drive. Those interested respond and thus register with us for the year for recruitment. The students are intimated and a vast number register for the interview. The interview process usually starts with a PowerPoint Presentation where the company enlightens the students about their company profile. Those interested then go for the interview, which usually comprises of a written test followed by group discussion and personal interview.

Xavotsav' is the Annual Festival of St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. It's the most famous college fest in Kolkata. Xavotsav endorses individuality and encourages students to take a break from banal day-to-day schedule to discover one's hidden talents and interests. The main Objective of Xavotsav is to provide a solid platform for students across all disciplines to showcase their qualities. The organizers claim it to be "the root of all enjoyment". One is guaranteed a breathtaking never before encountered experience on a city-wide stage, along with the chance to portray one's talents across genres of Music, Dance, Theatre, Intellect, Fine Arts, Media, Fashion, Sports and numerous more.

certain courses are less expensive than others in Xavier's Kolkata. For example, BCom morning is less expensive as compared to BCom evening because the AC is not used in BCom morning generally except during semester exams. But fees are not the only expenditure that one is expected to incur while in Xavier's Kolkata. There are other expenses which most people won’t even talk about.

Good students get scholarships of up to 100%. The needy ones can apply in the college office and the administration will definitely help them out. They are quite helpful and ready to provide 50% minimum scholarships to good students with average backgrounds. Loan facilities are readily available by the bank of Baroda branch of the college located inside the college

One of the finest labs. It is large enough to have been divided into four student labs and has separate research facility labs. There is a well-equipped sports room for recreational purposes. The library in our college is one of the best in the town. We have two grounds for football, and there is a basketball court. It is open for college students at any time

I have not opted for the hostel. Hostel facilities are nice. However, my friends complain about the hostel food. The canteen food is healthy and hygienic. It is very cheap and affordable. Many students does their breakfast in the college canteen. Most famous is the wai wai noodles. There is a variety of food to eat . The canteen is the cheapest canteen that I have come across.

The number of world-famous alumni of prestigious St.Xavier's(Autonomous), Kolkata are actually countless. It has the prestige of becoming 1 st autonomous institution of West-Bengal! It is also one of the most prestigious educational institution of Kolkata(and of course of India) for undergraduate studies along with IIT Kharagpur, IIM Calcutta, and ISI Kolkata!..ppl call them Xaverians...!u will often see in various newspapers that Xaverians achieving various achievements! Both St.Xavier's Kolkata and Mumbai are also considered among elite brands of undergraduate institutions of India along with IIT/NIT/BITS Pilani/SRCC/St.Stephens/Christ/LSR etc!Now finally coming to the alumni.list of Xavier's(Kolkata) it actually looks like 1. Laxmi Mittal-World's one of the richest. man and Europe's richest man and also CEO of Arcelor Mittal. 2. Vijay Mallya-India's one the richest man, Chairman of UB Group, Owner of IPL cricket Team Royal Challengers B'lore. 3. Sourav Ganguly-India's one of the finest Cricket Captain.

College uses a projector for teaching except for a few subjects which require board work. Our faculty is good. There is a minimum of two teachers per subject. Many of the teachers, for instance, Sir Hanif, Sir Xavier, have written books which are referred by students in and out of college.
