Course Curriculum Overview

4

The information science engineering curriculum at Ramaiah Institute of Technology is well balanced that covers both fundamental concepts at the beginning and more advanced concepts later on. But when it comes to real world applications as in jobs , i'm not very sure if it makes us industry ready as we are only thought about a subject and every student's focus is only on scoring marks rather than learning about the subject and where it can be applied in real life but some professors who are passionate about the subjects create a curriculum specific to what is important for us to learn in regard with placements and real life jobs which makes a lot more sense as a student as i would not have to start from the scratch when i actually start working in a company which is really what one wants from his professors and his college and the whole point of the information science engineering degree . To conclude , our curriculum is pretty old where they teach technologies such as jsp which are not very in use or trend according to the market status and are also extremely difficult as subjects themselves. But since we are under the software domain the course is pretty worth it as hopefully most of the software students will be placed with decent high packages.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since i am a management quota student, the yearly fee structure varies slightly every year. The tuition fee i paid for my current year(3rd) is ?2,22,156,additional ?20,000 was added as skill lab fee, additional ?3,510 as university miscellaneous fee and ?20,000 as college miscellaneous fee. This rounds up my total fee for the year to be ?2,65,666.The yearly fee structure slightly varies every year as last year it was ?2,72,710,hence i would say its decreasing.

Campus Life

4

My college has a lot of extra curricular teams and activities such as IEEE team and other teams such as the ted x msrit team which organise various events and fests at our college. Each organisation have various departments such as sponsorship , logistics , web design and much more.

Admission

I chose Ramaiah Institute of Technology as i am from Bangalore originally and the college is very close to where i live and the placements that ramaiah students have been getting since years is much admired and the crows of the college is also much better than most universities in Bangalore

Faculty

4

In my department , ISE , the faculty are very well qualified and we have a lot of teachers who are passionate about teaching us such as lincy ma'am,mani shekhar sir, suresh sir, shivanand sir.The ratio of faculty to students is pretty good as we have enough professors at all levels , associate , assistant and head of departments. But we do have a lot of strict teachers who are very strict about attendance but since our head of department have always been nice it really hasn't been an issue. My proctor charunayana v ma'am is very sweet and really helpful in various situations and is also very supportive regarding extra curricular activities and coming to the main part of the college life which is placements which is the reason we all pay so much money for.In conclusion , the teacher to student ratio is very good as there are more than adequate proffessors for each department regarding their expertise in various fields and domains and if the relationship is well maintained the teachers are also very helpful in anything you might wanna learn and regarding attendance and marks of cie's and semester end examinations.

Night Life

5

The nightlife around my college is pretty good as we have a lot of cafes and restaurants and gyms such as cult fit and cafes like moonrock , 1522 and chapter one and much more and there are hangout spots such as junkies
