Course Curriculum Overview

4

The main aspect of the curriculum which influenced my decision to choose this course was the teaching methodology through case studies. Since the case study methodology involves solving real world problems it gives students a realistic approach to the business world and ways to solve it so that when we are solving problems in the corporate world ourselves, we can take examples from other companies and solve our problems. This initiative helps students to build a problem solving skill.

Internships Opportunities

4

Internships offered were mainly from Deloitte. It was offered to only 10% of the students in our batch. Roles were Finance Intern, Financial Analyst, marketing intern, Sales intern, Business Analyst Intern, HR intern, etc. Projects like Financial Analysis and Reporting, Sentiment Analysis, Behavioral Finance, etc were taken up.

Placement Experience

2

From 5th trimester students become eligible for campus placements. Some of the prominent recruiters who visited the campus include: Consulting firms: KPMG, Deloitte, EY, PWC. Automotive & Engineering: Mercedes, BOSCH. Banking & Finance: HSBC Bank, Commonwealth Bank of Australia E-commerce & Tech: Flipkart, Ola, Navi Other sectors: Various other organizations across industries. Placement highlights: Highest package: 27LPA Average package: 7LPA Lowest Package: 4LPA Profiles offered: Roles span consulting, finance, marketing, analytics and management, depending on the recruiter. Around 80% of the students are placed till now. Placements are still going on. Plans after completing the degree: The MBA program aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to secure meaningful roles in their chosen industries. After completing the degree: Short term goal: I plan to leverage the campus placements opportunities and join a reputed organization to gain practical experience. Long term goal: Develop expertise in a niche domain and advance to leadership roles, contributing significantly to my field.

Campus Life

5

Campus life at Christ University was vibrant and enriching, providing a perfect balance of academic rigor and social interaction. Annual and technical fests: 1. Blossoms: A cultural extravaganza held annually, celebrating music, dance, drama and other art forms. 2. Chrisellence: A technical and management fest that fosters innovation and competitive spirit. 3. USHUS: A national level management fest providing students with real world business challenges. These fests are typically held between February and March, offering a platform for holistic development and networking. Library Resources: The library is a treasure trove for knowledge seekers: 1. Houses a vast collection of books, journals, e-resources, and databases, catering to the diverse academic and research needs. 2. The availability of international journals and industry reports greatly enhances learning for business- related courses. 3. Access to digital resources and study areas ensures a conducive environment for focused learning. Classrooms are modern and tech enabled with smartboards, projectors, and excellent acoustics, making lectures interactive and engaging. Wifi connectivity is robust across academic buildings, allowing seamless access to online resources. There are several student run social groups, clubs or student portals including their impact on student life.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facilities are basic. One thing I would mention is the cleanliness is top-notch but food is not provided by the hostel authorities. But their is a dedicated lady who comes in with food all three times of the day. The food is okay, not bad. Breakfast and dinner is 7days 7 different items but lunch is very repeatative. Registraytion process for hostel is entire online for boys but for girls after admission there is a dedicated date given on which hostel admissions are done in the admission office.

Admission

The other colleges I applied to were Alliance Univeristy, JAGSOM, etc. But I always wanted to join Christ because of the environment it provides and the diversity of students it has. After I joined, I found this to be absolutely true where students actually belong from all over the world and not just from all over the country. Yeah, the majority of the students (around 50%) are south Indian but the rest belong from all over the world. No, I didnot get rejection from any other college, rather I got admission dates with those colleges as well but I was waiting for Christ's result and when I got the result of Christ I just knew I have to take admission in Christ. The admission process involves the following steps: 1. National MBA Entrance Exam: Clearing any recognized entrance test (e.g., CAT, MAT, XAT) with marks above the cutoff. 2. Group Discussion: A group od 15 students discuss a given topic. 3. Micro-presentation: A short presentation on a topic which is given on spot to test communication and analytical skills. 4. Personal Interview: Conducted by two faculty members to assess personality, motivation and aspirations.

Faculty

4

The faculty-to-student ratio for the first two trimesters is 1:65 whereas for the rest 4 trimesters it is 1:55 (for finance). The faculties are well qualified and are easily accesible to the students whenever required. They bring academic and industry experience to the classroom providing a holistic learning experience to the students. But while some professors are exceptional in their teaching and mentorship, others are average and lack practucal engagement. Some of the faculties that I really liked and are worth mentioning are Prof. Latha Ramesh Ma'am, Prof. Nisha Shankar Ma'am, HOD Mareena Mathew Ma'am and also Prof Sonia Mathew for being the sweetheart she is always. The program spans over 2years and is divided into 6 trimesters each lasting approximately 3 months. Each trimester includes a mid term exam and a final exam. Subjects like Fixed Income Securities for Finance specialization are challenging and require thorough preparation. Other subjects are manageable with consistent effort and understanding.

Interview Experience

4

Yes there was a Group Discussion consisting of 15 students in each group. I donot remember the topic but it was something related to the current affairs of that time. Interview questions depended entirely on you and what you say in your introduction, that will basically drive your interview. My preparation was basically on current affairs and my background and the questions were more or less regarding that only.

Night Life

4

The nightlife is basic. Students have to get in college hostels by 9pm strictly. And outside students also have to leave the campus by 9pm. A gym for boys is present in the basement of the central block. Boys from boys hostel can use that. For girls there is a gym inside their hostel building at the 5th floor with pretty basic equipments. There is biometric attendance for both the hostels day and night which if missed anytime, would be charged 200 INR (eachtime). Famous hangout places are Gourmet Canteen, Birds Park inside the campus and outside in SG Palya there are several options depending on what you would like to eat. Its bustling with students always.

Other Applied Colleges

Jagdish Sheth School of Management - [JAGSOM] | Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Finance)

Because Christ University had better reviews with respect to the environment inside.

Placement Experience:

Placements in the college are good for marketing specialization. Compared to other specializations, from semester 2 itself, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank visit the campus. The highest package this year was 40 LPA, and the average package is around 6.5 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is 70% for now. After getting the degree, selection in a good company is my plan.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered is moderate and there are limited opportunities for high paying roles compared to top tier colleges. Companies that visit the campus are mostly small to mid sized organizations. The placement cell is very supportive and conduct training sessions such as aptitude tests, mock interviews and soft skills development to prepare students for placements.

Placement Experience:

Placement in my college is decent, wiyh around 90% of students are getting placed. Students usually become eligible for placement in their final year and the college provides internships opportunities before that, which helps in gaining experience. Many companies visit to campus mainly from marketing and sales, along with some roles in HR and operations. The number of offer is good but option for finance and analytic are comparatively limited.

I would like to rate the course 7 out of 10. Because as these is a distance learning many difficulties occur. I am doing a MBA in ksou after my graduation in b. Com. As ksou comes under UGT it is more helpful for the job seeker. As per my knowledge the faculty should conduct a more classes may be through online so that the working people can attend the classes from wherever they want. There are many distance learning courses in ksou academic platform but they are not handling in a accuracy. They take a lot of time to announce a results, even to conduct a exams they take a lot of time.
