SVNIT - FROM A PERSPECTIVE OF A FRESHER

The reason i chose the curriculum is the proper induction of all the core subjects required to work in the industry along with the introduction of programmming software. For mechanical engineering we have to learn matlab - a programming software. It definitely prepares us for the industries. Coming to the areas of improvement - some subjects must be given less credits such as energy engg. which is 4 credit course. I feel it shoud be a 2 credit course and also english should be replaced with only professional communication and instead of 4 credits it should be offered 3 credits. The frequency and timing of exam is really good with the difficulty level.

Students become eligible in 7th semester. Adani, Larsen and Tubro, Siemens, Marvel, JP Morgan, Allen and many prominent companies visit. Highesr package - 44lpa, mechanical highest - 18.45 lpa, percentage placed in mechanical - 87.4 percent. As of now no particular plans

The year wise tution fees for my batch that is 2024-25 is 99,000 rs in the 1st semester , 70,000 rs in the 2nd semester, 76k in 3rd , 70k in 4th , 76k in 5th , 70k in 6th, 80500 in 7th and 70k in the final semester. The overall fees is 611500 rs for four years. Tution fees is same in all semestets i.e 62500 rs and the same with other fees which is 7500rs for every semester. The remaining fee include a one time admission fee which is 3000rs to be paid in the 1st semester, a one time degree and alumni fee of 2500 and 2000rs respectively to be paid in the 7th semester

LITERATURE FEST(OCTOBER) ,KASHISH - FRESHERS PARTY (HELD IN OCTOBER) , MINDBEND TECHNO MANAGERIAL FEST USUALLY HELD IN MARCH. The books and journals provided by the library are excellent. The technological provision is also good. The campus lags in outdoor sport infrastructure. Overall the clubs are also really good

Facilities in the room - chair, study table, bed, cupboard, fan, common lan network. The food is above average and the menu changes every 2-3 weeks. The registration process of hostel is completed along with the admission and its definitely at affordable price.

I applied for many colleges and initially i got a letter from IIITDM JABALPUR mechanical engineering. However SVNIT is more prominent for mechanical engineering due to its prine industrial location. The process to get admission into my college is through JOINT ENTANCE EXAMINATION MAINS. The cutoff for entering into SVNIT is around 97.9 percentile in 2024 for general other state students.

SVNIT maintains a good student-to-faculty ratio of 1:12. Majority of the professors are very friendly and helpful. We can mail them for any doubts. There are no particular professors that i dislike. For one semester per subject, we usually have 2 class tests of 10 marks each, mid-semester of 30 marks and end-semester of 50 marks(paper of 100 marks converted to 50). We have 6 subjects of which 2 subjects are for 125 marks. The extra 25 marks are for the tutorial and continuous evaluation. The exams here are generally on a good level. The standard of papers is really good. The number of students who fail to clear the exam is very low but there are students who fail. The course curriculum is continuously updated and is very relevant

We have one library a common gym and a gym in every hostel, we have a common canteen - Geetha canteen. The time before which you should be in the campus is usually 11pm and in the hostel it is 7:30 for 1st yesr before freshers and 9:30 after freshers. The hostel intime is 10:30 for seniors. There are many hangout spots inside and even outside. The most famous is the lakeview park. It is definitely safe to roam around at night.
