Sweet & Sour : BJB Autonomous College

The course is designed in such a beautiful manner it's very easy to understand. I personally belong to science background. And changed my stream to arts with sociology honors. Seriously I have no idea about sociology but the course structure is designed so well that I easily understood the subject and currently its my favorite being from science background. And the participation if the teachers is really appreciable. Sociology provides a wide range of scope and includes everything in its study matters. Its provides wide exposure.Frequency of the exam is twice a year one midsem and others end sem. Besides that teachers frequently opt for class tests after the completion of the course.

Being a social science student I don't have enough knowledge regarding the internship that is provided to the technical students. But being social science student a ample opportunity is provided in different NGOs and social services. I have done my summer internship in Swabhiman NGO . I also got a internship certificate.

I am in a BA course and my honours is sociology. As my course is of 3 years our fee submission is divided into 3 parts. We deposit our fees years. My per year fee is 2182 including my session charge 632, C D fee 250 and exam fee 1300. Every year the fee remains same. But as I am a girl my fees is 2182 but in case of boys it is 2302 , a hike of rupees 120 in overall fee. As girl children we need not to pay tuition fee but boys have to pay a tuition fee of 120 every year. All other fees remains same as the girl. Its all about the fees.From being sociology honours we don't have practical exam that is why our exam fees is a little less than those having practicals. Besides that I also want to mention the fee structure of the self financing ITM course. As I have some friends there I know about their fee structure. Annually they have to pay 52848 rupees including their tuition fee 132, Session charge 366, C D fees 250, Exam fees 1900, Certificate fees 200 and course fee 50000.It is all about fees. Beside fees there is scholarship for every category students, which we access by state scholarship portal. Our institution has to approve our scholarship on the basis of eligibility. Till today I am granted two scholarships that is Nua O and E medhabruti. In the first year I applied for e medhabruti scholarship and I got a sum of 15000 credited to my back account. E medhabruti scholarship is applied online and We have to submit the hard Xerox copy of the documents in the scholarship cell of the college.Besides E medhabruti there are other scholarships like byasa kabi fakir mohan scholarship for odia honours students etc. The nua o scholarship I was sanctioned had an offline application. The documents needed were adhar card and bank passbook. I applied it in the college. And a sum of money 10000 is credited to my bank account. For girls and ST&SC extra 1000 is credited.That is why ST&SC girls got 11000 and general boys got 9000, ST&SC boys 10000 and general girls 10000.

Honestly there is no fest in our college. Department wise there is freshers and farewell. Freshers is orgranized in the month of September and November and farewell in March.Library has a good number of books but we couldn't access to all the books. We have access to a small number of books that arekpt in the self. We are acceesed to all the journals but not the books. We have 2-3 smart classes per week in which teachers show ppts. Sports is highly promoted and annual sports is also organized and prize is also distributed. Students have clubs in between them but not officially. No teacher is associated in the club.

You BJB Autonomous College. Students dream to study here and I got a chance to study here is my goodluck. I have chosen this college over other colleges. Going back in my memory lane I had 2 years drop for mbbs entrance exam. After I couldn't crack that I decided to persue my graduation. My frickle mind could not decide which course should I choose either science or arts. As in Odisha the admission in the government colleges is conducted by sams. Initially I have applied for physics in salepur college and mathematics in sailabala college. First I got selected in salepur for physics honurs then I transfered to sailabala for mathematics after I got selected. Then spot admission opened and I applied for colleges in Bhubaneswar as we shifted Bhubaneswar. I first got selected in rajdhani college and then to bjb. I felt like my dream has come true. I am really grateful being a student of BJB autonomous college. Regarding our admission process as our college is a government college the admission is done through sams. We have to apply for colleges in sams portal serially on the basis of our preference.And the selection list will come out . Before Appling we have to check the cut offs for different courses which is easily available in the college website.

If we talk about faculty mostly there are guest facilities. There are a number of departments in which there is not permanent faculty.Some departments have only one permanent faculty. But I will surely appreciate our teachers. There teaching style is so good. Honestly I can't tell about whole college because I belong to a specific course. As far I know and interacted teachers are so good and helpful. Personally Dr. Bibhabari Bal ma'am is my favorite. Her approach to the subject is really good. She has always encouraged us and gives us opportunity to participate in various activities. Personally there is no faculty I dislike. And the teacher are so friendly and we are always free to talk to them regarding anything.There are 2 exams annually for the subject which don't have practical and practical subjects have extra 1 exam that is practical exam. The 1st is mid semester exam which is conducted by the department in the middle of the semester and the exam copy is evaluated by the faculty member of the college.Next the semester exam which is scheduled at the end of the semester and the copy is evaluated somewhere out side the college. I don't have enough knowledge regarding that. And practical exam is done 1 to 2 weeks before the exam. The question level is Moderate most of the time.

My favorite hangout place in the college is around the administrative block. There is no gym inside the college. Library timing is 10.00 am - 5.00 pm. Campus timing is 9.00am-6.30pm . No student is allowed after 6.30 in the campus. Hostel timing is 9.00 am-5.30pm. No such hang out places inside the college. In college back side there is a park which can be listed as a hangout place.
