SSGI’s much needed review

I chose this course because i knew it has scope, there was no influence of this course curriculum, for real world I will say it doesn't prepare us because they teach old methods , civil field in more advanced these days , and all can be done in software , they do teach you softwares but it's underlying to students and the real world is more complex, they focus much on theory which can be done in softwares in 10 mins, yes they should teach theory but my suggestion is to focus more on softwares like AutoCad and more, like they should teach advanced autocad and advanced revit etc. frequency of exams are quite good and we get time for preperations and i think difficulty level is perfect for our own knowledge

Students are eligible after 5th semester for campus placements, the companies which visits are generally IT based companies such as, cognizent, tcs, bygus, the maximum package someone got was 8lpa and the minimum is 2lpa mostly students gets package of 2-3 lpa atmost. The university has no other brach campus placement only IT company placements. Only 20% of students are placed. My plans after graduation is either opt for masters or do a job in my field only

I used to pay about 77000 yearly for 2 semesters . It got increased to 100000 per year after i graduated. I was granted scholarship on the basis of caste, for sc category there was 25000 per year scholarship given, for OBC it was for 20000 and ST 28000 fees was compensated . Caution fees was for 1500 which they said they will return but they didn't . Management fee was 1000, addmission fees was of 30000 something, all the necessary fee was included in 77000/- and it was paid the same for all category students. The scholarship which was given was only given to students whose parents yearly income was less than 3 lakhs

No, in my college time there was no annual or technical festivals only few games were organized by us students no, faculties engagement at all. They just used to give us hope that we will organise something but in the end it always got cancelled, in the name of his son the chair person always organized 'arohan' cricket league, and we students used to organise few small games like arm wrestling and pushups etc which required less to no amount of money, no social groups and all this because the environment always got heated and turned into fights

Hostels are bad, cheap quality furniture given, after leaving hostel i had to pay fine because i kept my mattress in there office for few days, low quality table chairs, bed , and small rustic steel cupboard given, bathrooms are always clogged , food is pathetic , you will get worms and rat poop in your meals, the milk has black dirty substance in it and no hygiene in kitchen at all, they charge way much for hostel as they don't give hygenic and well quality food, Chowhan town, green valley are the near by pg flats you can try, they are good just because of rented apartments in which i lived i will give 4 star for hostel 1 star it's pathetic

Basically i wanted to opt for civil engineering and i applied to bhilai institute of technology and govt engg college raipur and bilaspur but as the cut off was high i got selected to shri shankaracharya group of institutions which was 100% controlled by Chhattisgarh swami vivekanand technical university actually all the colleges I applied to come under CSVTU maybe the campus placement was much more valuable in other colleges as compared to ssgi, as my first moto was to opt for civil branch and i got it in SSGI i came to here.The problem was my score I didn't prepared quite good. It was not my first choice to do engineering so i started my preperation very late .Addmission in this college is quite easy, it can be through JEE mains for B.tech and CGPPT for diploma of engg. You have to score min passing marks (50%) to get addmision in this college, you can take direct addmission through management quota or direct seat allotment

There are 3000 students per batch and each subjects have only 5-6 teacher alotted those 2 teacher single handadelly teach 2 or more courses to 5 sections. The faculties are nice and polite but the work load make them irritated. Vishal chandrakar taught me DHS and geotechnical engg and he was a great teacher. Navjot mam was also good but she left , most of the teacher leave because of more work and less salary. The lady teachers are more invested in students personal life and not on teaching , there teaching methods are also not good.there are 2 class tests of 40 marks of all subject which is kind of easyand one final exam of all subjects of 100 marks which is quite tough and few practical exams which is conducted in final exams, it plays vital role in your passing and percentage, the course curriculum is quite easy if you study properly, most of the students fail because of universities fault and negligence or you can say because they want to take more money for us

The campus was in durg, and in 2 km radius you will get so many spots to hangout like local, nescafe, fee cafes which are sp good and student friendly, in 1 km there is bhilais only mall, you will get life fitness gym in that mall and so many gyms near the college, campus has its own gym and its cheap and good but only for boys, for boys there's no time limit for hostel, for girls its 7 pm, locality is safe. But outside college no, nightlife inside college
