Best college to fall in love with

The most positive thing about our campus is it's environment. The environment surrounding the campus is very healthy. Peacocks roam around the campus. People are discouraged to harm animals. A very sustainable ecosystem has been developed over the many years of it's existence. The next best thing is its infrastructure.

Course curriculum at IIT Kanpur follows similar structure as other world renowned universities such as MIT, Stanford etc. Professors offer courses every semester and it's completely on the students to choose which course they want but they are expected to satisfy a minimum number of credits every semester. Exam structure is also similar to the above mentioned renowned institutes. It mainly consists of one mid semester and one end semester exams. However, it's completely upto the professor to decide in addition to the above two what else he wants to add in the course to evaluate students. It may be quizzes,assignments or may be projects.

Placement at IIT Kanpur are one the best in India. Almost all of the companies that anyone can name both in India and abroad visit campus for placements. The average salary is more than ?10 lakhs and the opportunities are huge. College does allows internship but it's approval completely depend on student by student basis. For example, undergraduate are almost always allowed to go for internship but post graduate students need to go through a lot of paper work to get allowed and sometimes even they are discouraged .

There are lots of events that take place on campus. For example, Techkriti is annual techno festival, then we have Antaragni which is our cultural festival and is among Asia's largest cultural festivals. Then we have inter IIT sports competitions. We also have an annual sports competition in which every other college is allowed to participate. We have inter hostel completions for both sports and cultural activities. We also organise debate competitions, literary enclaves, meditation sessions, spiritual guidance etc.

Fees for most of the post graduate students is compensated by the scholarship provided by the government of India. So it's not that of a concern for us. And it's also not that expensive. So that students who don't have government scholarship can pay by themselves.

Not specially IIT Kanpur but almost all centrally funded institute provide institute scholarship to all admitted post graduated students who qualify gate examination. The stipend amount is enough for a person to pay the institute fees and also maintain his daily expenditures.

There are plenty of opportunities for extra curricular activities. We have basketball court, baseball court, hockey field, football fields, cricket ground, Two modern gymnasium, book clubs, dance clubs, arts club, science club, astronomy club, Robotics club, aeromodelling club etc. For almost any engineering field that anyone is working in India we have a lab dedicated for it. We have special labs for material science, flexible electronics, bhi engineering, wind tunnel facility etc

Alumni network is very strong here at IIT Kanpur. We have regular alumni meetings abd batch reunions. Seniors are very helpful and the senior junior interaction is very healthy and they maintain a very strong bond .

Faculty here at IIT Kanpur are best in their field. They are some of the world renowned researchers in India. Many of them have won a lot of awards both national and international. All of them have a PhD degree. IIT Kanpur is known for it's research prowess and faculty here form the backbone of that.
