The only negative remark is that staffs are a bit casual and careless which is applicable for most Government entities. However keeping aside the academics we have awesome placements in the eastern region.

The course curriculum has recently been reformed for freshers. The content has been upgraded and unnecessary things has been removed. The focus is given on core as well as decent knowledge of computers to sustain in this modern world. We have internal surprise quizzes and then a midsem followed by end semester. However practicals are only taken at the end semester which included the practical and written test.

Placements at NIT Jamshedpur are best among the nearby NITs. We have a Training & Placements Cell which looks regarding it. There are plenty of Job opportunities irrespective of Branch. There are lots of students with multiple placements offers. However internship opportunities are just okay! You have to look for offcampus internship if you are working for IT sector. But still most of the core students gets internship in some of the reputed companies. Also, our institute provide a web internship for students who are interested in maintaining institute's official website.

There are two major fests- Ojass(Techno-Management Fest) and Culfest(Cultural Fest). However there are Branch Fests as well. Along with that we do have a Sports Meet cum Fest Urja. Ojass claims to be the second largest Fest of East India.

The fee structure is feasible for a reputed institute like NIT. It's around 62500 for academics, around 20000 for Hotels and Institute facilities. Also we pay 16500 for mess per semester. For economically backward students there is a scheme in which they are exempted for their tutiton fee if it their income is below 5 lacks annually.

Yes, there are lots of scholarship scheme like eKalyan and NFE. These scholarships are primarily based on income criteria and academic excellence. However currently I am getting a scholarship in which my college exempt me from paying any academic fee which is around around 62500 per semester.

We have pretty decent scenario for Co Curricular activities at our campus. From softskills to technical clubs we have it all here. I am a part of QuNITE which is the quizzing club of NIT Jamshedpur and Industry and Alumni Relations team which looks for Alumni related activities.

We have 2 mega Hostel of capacity 700 each and 10 mini hostels of capacity 150 each. Each student is given a seperate single room and hostels are allocated year wise. Also, the room for same branches are nearby.

We have quite good Alumni Network. A student body of Alumni Relations works entire semester to co-ordinate with them and along with that they also help us in guiding us at each step for corporate life. We organise an annual alumni meet which is quite interactive for students and alumni.

NIT Jamshedpur was lagging behind in terms of permanent faculties in all departments but in the last year itself recruitment was done for permanent faculties who are esteemed people in their area of interest.
