Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is pretty lame sometimes. There is no flexibility in the course you can choose. You do get to choose a minor and major. But no electives or other courses. You have CLAD as a university core, which most humanities students hate. It is just there to bring your CGPA down. The syllabus can sometimes be too much. Too much to cover in such a short term. Exams are fine, difficulty level is also manageable.
Fees and Financial Aid
I got admission through the CUET exam and since I scored 98% in CUET, I got 75% scholarship. That, combined with my merit based scholarship made sure that I had a 100% scholarship. So I don't pay any fees. But the term fees is around 50,000 to 1,15,000 Rs.
Campus Life
Clubs are not very active. They don't feel like fun, except for the members. But there are lot of minor events that doesn't really do much for you. No great Fests or anything in this campus. However, you can go to Vizag campus for Shore Fest. One good thing, you get access to a lot of resources and e-libraries using the school mail id to login.
Admission
The only reason I chose this college is because of the scholarship and the fact that it is away from home. No other reason. I appliee to a few colleges, but I wasn't in a situation to join them and that is wjy I joined GITAM bangalore. The other campuses are comparatively better, vizag being the best.
Faculty
In the humanities dept, all the faculties are more than qualified, down to earth, friendly and approachable. Ot almost feels like a close knit family of professors and students. Even the HODs are friendly and kind. There are more than 40 faculties. We have one mid term(30mark) two or four quizzes totalling 20 marks, two assignments (20 marks) for internals, making it out of 70. The assessments and quizzes can differ according to your faculty and course. Then you have the end term exam out of 30. The grading is relative, so if your class average is very low add you got a decent score, you'll get a higher grade and vice versa.
Night Life
Campus closes at 9. Till then you can roam around anywhere you want, no one will question you. Hang out with your friends, boyfriend / girlfriend, no one cares. The cafes are shops are open till 9 at night.
