Location being one of the negetive point as it requires large effort and cost to reach such long distance so many companies denies to come for placement whereas being in one of the isolated place we are not able to get items of are basic needs so we order online
Course Curriculum Overview
Mechanical being a core branch you have to study hard, but its most interesting branch where you will feel your environment and feel interest in learning new things. Exam are taken everywhere to check your performance, so here we have to mid semester exams followed by an end semester exam.
Placement Experience
Our college have been ranked at 20th position by NIRF in placement according to average and maximum salary offered. And talking about internship, our Training and Placement cell works hard to provide internship to all 2nd and 3rd year students. I also got internship from my college in L&T Metro, Hyderabad and this will be great experience for me.
College Events
Abhiyantran: This is Technical Fest celebrate each year in NIT, sikkim campus and it goes on for 3 days. It includes large number of events like workshop, seminar and various other technical events. Udgam: This is Cultural fest of NIT sikkim which goes on for 3 days, and many cultural events with different celebrities are celebrated then.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible as there are various schemes according to annual family income of students. Students with less then 1 lakh, between 1 lakh and 5 lakh, and above 5 lakh have different schemes of fees payment.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship is offered by Central government for family having income less the 5lakh of general category under NSP. Whereas there are different scholarships for SC/ST students. Students can take student loan from SBI Ravangla branch easily with less interest.
Campus Life
We have small ground for volleyball and kho kho, and one large size ground for football and cricket. Labs of different departments like mechanical, electrical, civil,computer, electronics,chemistry etc
Hostel Facilities
We have hostels for boys and girls, with 4 students residing in 1 room, rooms are large enough to accommodate 4 students with bed, table, chair and almirah. We have common bathroom for set of 8 rooms.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes alumnis play important role in college's progress and they have been played important role in placement. Seniors in college guide us as how to study or about any upcoming exams, about various fields in which we can go.
Faculty
There are always some good and bad faculty, that depends on there teaching ability and type of interaction with students. So i would say that we have quite good faculty in mechanical department with good staff.
