Likes
- The infrastructure of my college is quite amusing like it was established in 1892 so it has that vintage brick monument
- The teachers are also so good. You can't find such supportive teachers anywhere else.
- The college also provide a lot of recreational activities at department level as well as at college level such as famous book fare of amritsar.
Dislikes
- The eve teasing by boys to girls. Like they wander here and there following girls the whole day.
- The subjects like interdisciplinary course commerce which literally makes no sense in the syllabus.
- No proper washrooms for children. Only for teachers.
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is entirely based on upsc syllabus and also i am preparing for upsc so it is quite helpful to me. I think the course should be more focused on prelims exam of upsc like mcq patterned and also include previous year questions as a subject.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid 54000 yearly. (Semester system). Every other fees is included in this. My course is B.A.(Social Sciences) so there are no lab fees. It decreases in the second year to around 45000. I think its quite affordable.
Campus Life
There are various seminars and held at daily basis in our college at both department and college levels. Also there are various fests including tech fest and book fare. Our college's bhangra team is the best in the district. It always stand first in youth fest.
Admission
I applied to GNDU, Amritsar but i couldn't make to ht because i was late for tests. So i applied here because of its repute. The admission process is very simple, just pay the fees and get your details checked by the officials.
Faculty
The entire faculty of khalsa college is so supportive and helpful to students. Thr faculty to student ratio is 1:40. You can visit any faculty at any time during college hours and after college you can even contact them through college groups. They are always ready to help. My English teacher Ms. Amandeep Kaur is my favorite as she always praises me when i perform good. Mr Kuldip Sir, our punjabi teacher is so chill kind of person. Our H.O.D Sawant Singh Manto is also really helpful. There are Mid Semester tests as well as final semester tests. They are quite easy. My course curriculum is properly based on upsc syllabus.
Night Life
There are three hostels for girls and three for boys. The hostels which are made recently are well maintained but the old hostels are not too good. The food of mess is also not so nice. There is one huge library at the centre of campus. In addition each department has its own library. The famous hang out place is food court.
