Experience Beyond Education at RGUKT

In this 6-years of college the first 2-years are PUC (Pre University Course). In this course we have 6 subjects. Those are Telugu, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Information Technology (IT). After that we need to attend for councelling depends upon the rank we got in these 2 years. Depending upon our rank we need to give some preferences for our BTech branch. Then administration was gives us an branch depending on our rank. In BTech after completion of all core subjects we need to do one summer intern and 4 projects which are helped for us to improve our skills. For every semister there are 3 mid examinations and they are taking best 2 exam marks for our internal marks.

Coming to placements, only 10-20% of students only got their placement offer in campus placements. Remaining all are searching jobs in off campus only. Coming to ECE department, few students only got placement in core domain and those jobs also from some small service based companies only. Somany of us trying to do some industry relevant courses after completion of graduation and got placed in companies and some students were preparing for government jobs and 10-30% of students were preparing for Gate exam and want to do higher studies.

Actually this college offers 6years integrated BTech course. Actually the fees per year is 50000. But student can't pay the whole amount, the maximum amount of fees was paid by government only. Nearly 10% of fees will be paid by student for General and OBC candidates. For SC and ST student the total fees was paid by both State and Central governments. Hostel fees also paid by government only for all category students. If student's parent was an government employee then only a student can pay the total fees which was 50000(for college) and 20000(for hostel).

There so many events conducted by college clubs. Annually they are celebrating farewell parties which are extremely happiest events for all branches. Annually sports department conducts Department leagues for all sports. There is an small library present in the college but most of books used for our academics were available in library. There is an plenty of facilities in classrooms. The classrooms are well structured. Air conditioner also present in classroom. Projector facility was present in classroom. There are some student-run clubs are present in college like Elecsta, Saahaya Mithra etc..

Coming to hostel rooms, those are nice for adjustable persons. There is some issue with washrooms in hostels. Those are limited but the hostel strength was around 700-1000 students. Hostel food was rated as below average. This hostel was given3by administration only. All students are need to stay in hostels only there is no option like day scholars. This hostel fees was afford by government only.

After completion of 10th class, if we got top marks then we got admission in RGUKT depending upon our marks, category etc... So it is the 6-years integrated BTech course which was provided by Andhra Pradesh government since 2008. So I got top marks in SSC and selected for this college. Due to my family situations I blindly joined into this college and this college was best for all middle class people like me. The admission process was very easy to join in this college. After completion of SSC we need apply for this college when management releases the notification. If we selected for this college first we need to attend for councelling which was conducted by RGUKT management. After completion of our councelling they are giving some date. Then we need to join the college before the deadline.

The faculty to student ratio was medium in this college. For whole branch of ECE only 10-15 members of faculty members are there. But these people are very nice and approachable. They are taken stand for students in somany issues. If we have any problem then they are helped us. The exams was easy to medium level of difficulty. Nearly 5-10% of students only fail to clear exams in first attempt.

Night life was good for boys. Whereas it is nightmare for girl students. Food court was opened till 10Pm for boys whereas girls only allowed to food court till 9pm only. Hostel room was nice but there are some cleaning issues in hostels. Washroom are present in the corner of the every floor only.
