Umeschandra College is an average college and is very good for those who are pursuing professional courses like CA,CS or CMA as there is no requirement for attendance (just like st. Xavier's college). But they have to improve in terms of infrastructure and rules and regulations.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college offers B.com (Hons.) and (General) only and is affiliated to Calcutta University so it follows the rules and regulations of calcutta university. The university conduct their exams every year on june and December on the basis of semester system (CBCS) and a internal semester of 10 marks before exams starts
Placement Experience
The job placement of this college is not pretty good. The companies like: 1. Tata Consultancy Services 2. Axis Bank, Pune 3. Genpact etc..comes every year and employs hundreds to four hundred of students. The college has a placement cell which provides interview within college
College Events
The events organize by this college is least... But let me tell you the following events which is conducted by our college: 1. Freshers Party: Which is conducted every year in the month of August at victoria auditorium,Howrah. 2. Annual Function: Which is not specific. Sometimes they don't do but when they do they call some eminent personality. 3. No farewell.
Fee Structure And Facilities
An affordable college with minimum expenses. It does not exploit student by charging high fees. The Students have to submit admission fees at nearest SBI Branch. The fees is around 4000 including 6 months fees. The fees of college is Rs.512 for 6 Months.
Fees and Financial Aid
No such scholarship is provided by this college. But Many scholarship is provided by state government and Central government.The principal sign all types of recognized Scholarships provided by Central and state government without any harassment and a student can take loan from any banks.
Campus Life
The college conduct annual sports every year in the month of January and various small competition where held by student union between students of college every day in college campus whether indoor or outdoor games like chess, football, cricket etc. Umeschandra College is only for commerce student so there is computer labs ehich is well equipped.
Alumni/Alumna
There are no such committee of alumni. The seniors of this college is most helpfull one. They always ready to help you in any matter without refusing. I think there are the best union in the kolkata. Their never talk to their Juniors in high pitch voice.
Faculty
The faculty of this college is very good. The teachers are helpfull and co-operative. They are highly qualified with minimum experience of 20 years. They help students even one day before exams. They suggest main question which are exams oriented.
